July 10, 2007 at 2:47 am #121326Hey All:
For those of you who offer newsletter sign-up/registration on your sites … what newsletter “sign up” program/script do you use? For some reason, I’m having a mental block on where to find a good one and what to choose.
While we’re at it, what Newsletter Generation program/script/component do you use?
Thanks for any help, leads and/or insight you can provide.
TOM

July 10, 2007 at 2:57 am #223882JoomlaShack has put together a package that looks pretty good. Take a look at it here: http://www.joomlashack.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=195&Itemid=40

July 10, 2007 at 4:28 am #223892Definitely a cool looking package, although a bit pricey as one’s contact list grows –> http://www.icontact.com/pricing/

July 10, 2007 at 5:57 am #223895Isn’t the PHP list provided here a solution? Or?

July 10, 2007 at 8:31 pm #223942It’s not clear to me if PHPList is a newsletter solution or more of a community organization utility.
So, still looking for a reasonably priced solution . . . there has got to be something decent out there.

July 12, 2007 at 6:54 am #224035It isn’t all that bad. I found it difficult to make changes to the code to make it “behave” the way I wanted it to. But it is definitely in the top 5 list..

Yah, but what else is new with PHP/CSS design?

Nice and easy component. Working good and it’s quite flexible.March 28, 2010 at 6:02 am #338086I use MailChimp.com for all of my newsletters. They’re free up to the first 500 subscribers. I’ve had a lot of success with their deliverability and analytics plus they’re just plain fun to use (and who couldn’t use a little fun in their workday? :D)

April 12, 2010 at 11:06 am #340048Dear Dawidt,
Have you had any issues with acajoom and it stopping half way through sending a list? I like how it all works and for lists of 160 or 250 seems ok. But when i tried to send to a list of 1100 it stopped after 338. I know it is not a problem with my provider as previously I used to use a bulkmail software on my desktop and that would send 1,000’s with out any problems.
Currently I have it set to send 15 and then stop for 10 secs and then send another 15 and so on. What settings do you use?
Kind regards,
Jim
April 27, 2010 at 7:08 am #341739I use Aweber and am very happy with it. I think it’s around $140 per year, but I may be off on that. There are all kinds of useful options, and they are quite strict about kicking out spammers, so your newletter won’t get blocked as it might using other services.
