After spending 2 days trying to edit the content in Teline IV j1.6.3 Quickstart I have come to the conclusion that this is not easily done! Usually the demo layout in a quickstart is a good starting point to customise from, but in this case it’s a nightmare!!

I have no idea why this should be. The sample database categories and articles have numeric aliases for some reason that seem to cause issues when either adding an article or trying to reassign an existing one to a new category.

I did manage to add a new sub-category to News which didn’t show up until I edited the path correctly with phpMyAdmin! I was able to create a new category, sub-category and an article that eventually showed up in JA Newspro but creating another article in that same category never showed up.

Please tell me the best way to build content with this template :((

I decided to check out Teline III j1.6 and installed the most recent Quickstart on WAMP. Within half an hour I was able to edit content and make changes very quickly. I’m pleased to report that Teline III j1.6 appears to work perfectly!

So my verdict is that Teline IV j1.6 is unusable! Why release a quickstart/template that is unfit for purpose and waste people’s time.
Seems like I will have to turn my attention away from Teline IV until it is usable.

Hi midsomer,
Sorry for delay, i checked problem in ja teline iv for joomla 1.6 quickstart, and i see the problem , In backend of ja news pro module if select subcategories the content can’t show on frontend. it will be ok if we select parent category (level 1), i think may be you still get same bug, Please confirm for us. we will report to to developer team to fix that bug.
