Hi,
I have been trying to get a breadcrumb module to work for a while not and I have tried various implementations (Breadcrumb Plus and Breadcrumb advanced) but none ever show up. I always publish the module in the breadcrumb position (chose that from the dropdown) and show it on all pages … but nothing.
I have now notices that in the preview of the template there is not breadcrumb position defined (see attached image). I have not included the sample data when installing this template and hope I can solve his without doing this. Any suggestions ?Cheers,
Patrick

January 15, 2009 at 3:26 pm #286616Hi pdemaers,
There is no module position, but it is positioned there in the template index.php file like:
<div id=”ja-topbar” class=”clearfix”>
<div id=”ja-pathway”>
<strong>You are here:</strong><jdoc:include type=”module” name=”breadcrumbs” />In Extentions/Modules you will find the module “Breadcrumbs” and you have to make sure you enable it.
Hope this is a help.
January 15, 2009 at 3:35 pm #286624Hi,
I will check in the index.php file later tonight. With regards to the breadcrumb module, since I did not install the template’s sample data there was not breadcrumb module installed by default. I therefore installed a couple of other ‘enhanced’ modules to see which is best. Despite being activated (as you see in the screenshot extract) and published on at least some pages, it does not show up on the front end of the site (I assume because the position to which I assign the module – breadcrumbs – does not seem defined in the template. However, when I assign the module to other positions it does not show up either … so maybe something else might be wrong.
Would there be a way to just install the default Joomla 1.5.x breadcrumb module, without having to install the whole site all over again ?Cheers,
Patrick
January 16, 2009 at 8:10 pm #286837Just checked the index.php file and the lines defining the breadcrumb module position are indeed present as you have stated in your post. So why does nothing show up when it is published in this module position ? And why does it not show up in the template preview.
Breadcrumbs are very important for my customer and this not working could be showstopper. Any suggestions out there as to how to solve this ?
Thankd you kindly,
Patrick

January 16, 2009 at 8:26 pm #286841From the Joomla extensions page…..
<blockquote>Note: When your template has a line like this one:
…jdoc:include type=”module” name=”breadcrumbs”…you’ll have to replace the name with “breadcrumbs_advanced”. Or just use another position than “breadcrumb” for the advanced module.</blockquote>

January 16, 2009 at 8:41 pm #286843Hello Scotty,
you are a champion. Changing the module name in the index.php file did the trick and I have breadcrumbs working now !!! Thank a million and keep up the great work with the templates !!
Cheers,
Patrick
