Why is it then when I switch from a Joomla standard template to Justica, the contact menu item no longer works? Clicking on the contact link in the main menu just opens a blank browser page. All the setting for the main menu are exactly the same as they are in the Joomla standard template, so I can only assume that Justica has a major bug.

Does anyone know how to get the contact component working correctly WITHOUT screwing up the basic Joomla installation. I’ve been down this route so many times with Joomlart templates, and usually end up having to reinstall my entire site after making recommended changes .

have you tried making a new menu item?

I seem to remember doing this before with a similar template problem. The last time I did it, the whole site just became a complete mess and had to delete everything. Don’t want to go through that experience again.

I’m very cautious of doing anything on a site that has a Joomlart template in it. If I use standard Joomla templates, I can quite happily change things around and correct problems with no ill effects at all. Unfortiunately, it appears you have to be VERY careful before undertaking any additions or deletions when Joomlaert is involved.

I’ll give yur suggestion a shot, but I’m very relectant to delete the existing menu item, as I’m sure a whole bunch of other problems will start.
