You can do it on your localhost first to upgrade on your server

    1) Take a backup of your site with akeeba backup component

    2) Install your site on localhost

    3) Make the upgrade and after all was fine, install again on your server

Look at this guide how to upgrade your site

I think the tricky part for me is to install it on localhost. I have never done it before. Is their any easier way?

    Very simple to do

    1) Install xampp on your pc

    2) Take a backup with akeeba of your site

    3) Download the backup on your pc

    4) Install your backup on local – look at this guide

    Hi, Pavit,

    I’ve upgraded the site, http://www.kurd.se/jupgrade/#
How is the easiest way to make it look like it did before (http://www.kurd.se)
Do I have to build everything and start over or is it any easier way to do it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi kurdse,

I think that you have no other way rather than config the upgraded site manually. Meaning you would have to install the template, extensions.. into your new site config the modules, menu items…. so on to get it looks like the old site.
It would not take you too much of time 🙂

    Hi,

Is it possible to overwrite everything with qiuckstart package? To get all the module positions right.
