October 15, 2008 at 2:51 am #134425Oops this is my second installation, and I thought I did not need the sample web pages, so did not install them. Now I don’t have the search box in the top right corner, and don’t know how to add it. 🙁

October 15, 2008 at 3:10 am #275336Hi Cindy
Not installing the data should not cause this problem. Check in template.css (line 1007) to ensure the code below is there.
#ja-search .inputbox {
background:#FFFFFF url(../images/icon-search.gif) no-repeat scroll 5px center;)
border:1px solid #E7E8E6;
padding:2px 0 2px 22px;
}Also check your template image folder for (icon-search.gif)

October 15, 2008 at 3:24 am #275337SOLVED
Extensions > Module Manager > New > select Search
The trick then is to change the location until you ge it where you want it.

October 15, 2008 at 3:28 am #275339Hey Tony,
Thanks for replying (again)!
(We meet again–you are indentifiable by your slogan, to which I always wanted to add:
She who teaches, learns 🙂 )Oh it all works ok, just not this “nut behind the wheel :-).”
When learning its easier to experient with what is already there (sample data),
not magically make something from whole-cloth. However my last installation
did teach me something.. enough to figure-out what steps to take.Cheers,

October 15, 2008 at 3:32 am #275341Now if I can only figure-out how to place it over(into) the blue banner, the menu bar. Like the original design….. anyone know what the position should be? I have tried almost all.

October 15, 2008 at 3:58 am #275346ha:-) no, just before I got to read your reply.
My motivation was alread strong though, and stronger now because I had to re-install Joomla from scratch.
Need to get back-up to speed. And gotta sleep.
Good night from Canada,
