Can you give me a link to your site?

Also, what version of Joomla are you running and have you got the latest version of the template and all the plugins?

Hello I have the same problem on my own site but also on the joomweb demo site. Is there a piece of documentation that specifically tells the best way to add new articles so it looks like the demo content?

    problem examples:

    original demo content article: http://kok.joomweb.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=84&Itemid=461

exact copy of article html: http://kok.joomweb.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=83&Itemid=460

see how its get and extra padding at the top. I have to add about 700 articles from the old website so I would really like to know what the best way to add images and set the padding and alignment in an easy way.

Can you show pictures detailing exactly your problem as I am struggling to understand what we are looking for?

This is the original demo article

This happens when i copy thehtml code from original demo artcile and paste it into a new article

So basically i have two questions about this.
    1) Why is there a difference between the two when i copy the exact html code from the article.

    2) What would be the best and easiest way of adding a new article with an image. (setting style, padding and alignment for image)

I see. That is a function of your editor. If you use the “No Editor” mode of Joomla then this would not happen. I am guessing that instead you are using the html button of TinyMCE which is adding a <p></p> tag of its own creating that space you are seeing. You can switch this feature off in the Editors plugin.

If I use “no editor” the image shows the correct hight, but it doesnt resize. Also using no editor is not a solution, using the editor is the whole point of joomla imo.

Where to switch of the <p> tag in the plugin? I tried setting “new lines” from <p> to <br> but that doesnt help, also “code cleanup” from always to “front only” doenst work.

This really is a question you should be asking over on Joomla.org. How the editor works or does not work is something we cannot influence. In Joomla there are times when you simply have to resort to using the “No Editor” mode or change the editor to never cleanup.

I am simply asking how to add an article with one image, in a way that it shows just as the demo content, thats it. Nothing fancy, no scripts, tables, custom code or css, flash or whatever. And you tell me to use “no editor” !? You are kidding right?

Why not skip the the whole joomla and go back to dreamweaver. And telling my clients to take an html course becouse there is no such thing as cms, You are downgrading joomla to a webbased html editor/notepad with your answer.

Not at all. There are times when the TinyMCE editor does things we do not want it to do. You could try an alternative editor such as JCE as that has more control over the insertion of tags.

I cannot change how Joomla works unfortunately. The padding that you are seeing is put there by the editor and only by using a different editor or switching off that feature of the editor can we change that.

    Hi there,
If you are using JCE there are some config you can do.
    Force Container Element: Set DISABLED.
By this way, any elements won’t be forced to use container . It should help you prevent auto generate <p> tag.
Please check it in my screenshot.
    Thank you
