Hi,
I’m running Joomla–version 1.5RC2 in Legacy mode–and the JA Nerine template with the JA Slideshow module on my LOCAL machine; i.e., it’s not hosted.
When I click the JA Slideshow link from within Module Manager, in order to set the properties, I do not see “slideshow” as one of the options in the “Position” drop-down. So, I’m not able to position the slideshow correctly (top spotlight) and, therefore, get it to work. Currently, the position is selected as “left” and I’m displaying it on the Home page, only.
Everything else appears to work fine. I’m using XAMPP 1.6.3a on Windows XP.
Your help is greatly appreciated! 🙂

This option is not available in version 1.5RC2
There must be a way to add a position to the 1.5 version. Hasn’t anyone else run into this?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Vince, yes I have run into the same problem.
In the ‘Edit Module’ for the slideshow you’ll see a pulldown called position.
To my suprize you can enter ‘slideshow’ directly into the pulldown!!Give it a try, and the slideshow should appear where you need.

Hi armanrivard,Wow, that is a miraculous fix. The whole time I was skeptical, until I saw the end result with my own eyes. I don’t understand it, but I’ll take it!
Now that the position is correct, I just need to get the slideshow to work. I haven’t made any adjustments other than your fix, settings in the slideshow module>edit page and uploading the banner images from the demo. Of course, I’ve enabled the Legacy plug-in.
The error message I’m getting is the following:
“JaSlideshowClass is not defined,” referring to:
JaSlideshow = new JaSlideshowClass({ … });Presumably, you have the slideshow working in 1.5; I appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks a lot for your help!
September 11, 2007 at 1:54 am #229224Armanrivard: Thank You! 😀
Forget my last post; I just stumbled across your post about moving the directories. Everything works fine now!
For anyone else having trouble getting the slideshow module to work with JA Nerine, check out arman’s post here:

Thanks again, arman!

Wow … didn’t know that it would work that way. Thought it would be necessary to edit the template xml file, where the module positions are listed but this is of course much easier.
