I am not able to install the JA-Obelisk template I just downloaded from the Joomlart site. I tried uploading it via the extension manager, then I tried to upload it via the JA-Extension manager, and finally I upload it via cpanel to the /tmp directory.

It didn’t work.

I also tried to install the easyblog_theme_obelisk.v1.0.1.zip component and it didn’t work either.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Try unzipping the template files (to a folder on your desktop) and then uploading the files to your server via an FTP client – such as FileZilla

I was able to install the template, by uploading it and discovering it via Joomla, but I was not able to install components such as easyblog doing the same. Could you please help me understand why?

You need to use/should be using your Extension Manager to install components
