    Hi acornfencing,

I just installed the Nex Quickstart and VM 2.0.0 + sample data and everything looks fine to me.

Can you please provide more details? Do you see the products in the backend?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Frank

Just also noticed that it is not showing sub catergories either. Does virtumart have to be set to a curtain theme?
    Thanks

    Hey there,
that is a really strange behaviour. Could you please turn off sef url’s for now? I want to see how the shop category is called. Maybe you can try to install it again and see if that fixes anything. Keep me updated when you disabled sef please.

    Cheers

This is a SEF issue. Make sure that your SEF configuration allows to show all categories within the VM extension configuration within SEF. Also, Make sure that your VM extension config within SEF have the shop.index or the theme page that you are calling from the front end. The best way is to go to your SEF and review all urls for VM and pick the SEF URL you want to use and add the store.index or store.browse as your home page. and make sure that your menu item for VM is a url that start with index.php and doesn’t have an item id. just component=vm or whatever you have setup.

Thank you cissp for pointing this out. I’ve already thought of something like sef could cause the problem.

Ok changing the SEF has allowed me to see products etc and evrything looks great, but if i leave this of will it effect search engines etc. if so how do i make it so i can leave SEF on but see my products and have it not effect VM 2.0. Would it be best to download a plugin which would look after this and which do you recommend.
    Thank you in advance.

As cissp said, play around with the SEF settings of vm and in the global configuration of your joomla install. In addition you can edit the link to your store (menu item). There is no SEF component for free that supports virtuemart I’m afraid, and since 2.0.0 is so new I don’t think that there is a commercial one ready for that yet.
