Hi.
I have had this issue with another template a while ago and am having it with this one.
I have checked with Zeolite template and all is fine but need to use Vauxite.
Did a search and found one related post regarding nothing showing on the front page but it was for a different template and I tried to change the code but couldn’t get it to work.
I am using J1.5.9.
TIA
Mark

February 10, 2009 at 8:18 am #290403Hi blugreen,
Maybe i don’t understand your idea.
I have looked your website, i saw the seach module, i searched a word but the website looks nice.
February 10, 2009 at 10:27 pm #290527Hi.
Thanks for your help.
I can not get anything to display on the front page. No articles and no modules. Only seems to be an issue with the front page. Other templates are ok but not this one.
HELP please.
TIA

February 10, 2009 at 11:03 pm #290534Hello,
I see your problem and have attached a screenshot. I am using Vista and IE7 for anyone that needs to know.
Just a thought… I wonder if the problem is related to the URL. Since you aren’t using a .com or something and just the IP address.
Sorry I don’t have answers for you but maybe the screenshot of the problem and the browser etc I am using will help someone figure out the problem.
February 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm #290538Hi.
Have checked it on a full domain (not the temp server that I am working off) and same issue.
I have tried reinstalling the base template and still the same issues.
I tried moding the index.php as per the same issues with the Rutile template – http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/no-articles-shown-on-frontpage/
Still have no ideas.

February 10, 2009 at 11:41 pm #290541What is interesting is I have no problems viewing my own site with Vauxite. Something is preventing your front page from displaying.
I clicked on Company on your menu and everything looked fine. Clicked on Home from menu, gone again. However, when I click on Home from breadcrumbs I got a page that looks different from the screenshot above. Different colors etc. The header was blue. I can’t get it to do it again though so I can get a screenshot of that as well. Maybe you were working on it while I was playing with it. If you were working on it at the time, the blue color template caused the home page to work. I saw about a three line description of the company. But when I tried again, it was back to what the screenshot above looks like.
FYI, your site takes quite awhile to load also.
February 10, 2009 at 11:55 pm #290545Hi Imsleepy.
I was working on it so that would explain the changes.
What version of Joomla are you using? I am on 1.5.9 and also tested it on 1.5.6 and both had the same issues.
TIA.

I am using 1.5.9 and I used just the template install for the Vauxite template since I already had a quick install from the Teline II template.
Interesting that when you were working on it, when the blue color came up, the home page also showed. Did you make any changes to the original template index.php or the template.css? If so, you may want to upload a clean copy of those and see if it makes a difference. I would be inclined to think it might be template.css since the blue color allowed the home page to show, but unfortunately, I am no expert.
February 11, 2009 at 3:53 am #290577Hi.
The change that you saw was a completely different template.
I am trying an install using the quickstart to see if that works…

March 2, 2009 at 5:49 pm #294195I have had the same problem with three different JA tempates (Vauxite, Nerine, and Purity). I thought it was a problem with Joomla, but I installed Yootheme and Rockettheme templates just to be sure and they both showed the home page without a problem.
Thus I can only conclude that its a problem with the Joomlart template. I REALLY want to use Vauxite, but these bugs are killing me.
Does anyone have any other ideas/solutions?
Thank you.
