I am pulling my hair out of my head now. Trying to figure out how to remove pdf and print icons …from virtue mart layout. They don’t display and don’t conect to database So I thought best would be just to remove them ..but may be anyone have idea why .. so I can fix it. This is brilliant template………but I have lost half of my hair so far lol
Any idea would really help for pdf have msg like that
FPDF error: Alpha channel not supported: /home/sitename/public_html/Shop/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/vendor/Cloth_49a9c31bcfe42.png
is it because I used png image?
and for print I have simple : 404 – Component not found displayed in pop up window. That drives me crazy.
Since this forum is the best and so many smart people I am hoping one will answer. .grr I really feel like user. Time to start reading others posts and answering if I can.

I tried on my localhost.
1. Menus >> Article Manager>>Parameters (right top corner)>> Hide PDF, Email,Print Icons.
2. In virtue mart component this is what i unticked.
It worked on my demo site.

Many thanks drarvindc……..I cannot believe I am so dumb sometimes. Guess 15 hours in front of my computer ….pays off with blonde moments. Fixed right now. I wish I could fix that will display properly though lol but for time being I am happy like this.

Ha ha. “blonde moments”. Well, glad it worked for you now, but hiding them away seems half the solution.
Wondering what caused the errors at the first place. Let us know if you ever get it fixed.

Alpha channel is a special feature of some graphic formats it adds transparency levels and used mainly for masking, basically it adds additional information to the graphics header info, VM doesn’t read the extra info apparently and has a dummy spit? Take the image and load into PS and turn the alpha channel off? here’s a link for a short explanation on Alpha channels

Not using the template I assumed the error being so specific would indeed indicate the ac of the image was at fault seems strange to be so specific, sorry if it lead to a bum steer, But you now know all about alpha channels 😀 May be worth a post on the VM forums?
A Google search on “FPDF error” gives many similar complaints with pdf and gifs etc one indicates some info already sent to browser causes conflicts

I know I know was cheeky to ask here. I usually search but with my partner having cancer I tried to save time ..cheeky me. Travel to Perth takes whole days sometimes. I will find solution .. and hey ShannoN. .thanks for alpha channels.. hehehe. .you got me. And I have been using photoshop for years.. see when you do quick mask ..etc ..but sometimes forget basics …lol
I know i will find solution. .for time being glad to taken off.. and will think about it. I probably will post here when I find solution.
