    Hello,

This is another very critical of the Menus. In Teline II Joomla 1.5. the Magazine menu editor has the option of specifying the order of caegories and sections through a drop down menu (or assign the numeric order) to speficy the order among the categories in a Section or among the Sections.

This feature is missing in both Joomla 1.5 and 1.6 versions of Teline IV.

Without this “leap frog” ability of reorganizing the categories, one is left with the very primitive up and down arrows. If Joomlart wants to torture subscribing membes for complaining too much, this is the best torture without being charge legally for violating unwritten human compassion natural laws.

    Yes,

    Please clarify the following :

    1) You are mentioning about the arrangement of the menu joomla (only relates to the menu component) or about the section, category, of the content component?

    2) where can i have a look at this arrangement on front-end? it happens on the ja menu? or which extension?, please give me some snapshots on the issue

And then We will continue the discussion.

Please take a look on my snapshot:

You are mentioning about categories, sections of component relating to the Menus and Sub menu of the menu component
( i checked an example with the Entertainment menu and the Entertainment section )

in the quickstart, we made a demo having menu items structure same as sections, categories
may be you are having a mistaken on this. to re-arrange menu items you have to re-arrange them in the menu manager.

    Thanks

    Sorry tienhc,

Update: The original thread post was posted based on my installation on 14 January and subsequently. However, I have to delete them because they have a bug I traced to the sample_data.sql

I tried the latest I downloaded on the 27th January, and the leap frog mechanism seems to be present already. It has a bug problem still and deleted that too.

So, I decided to use the sequential installation:

    1. Joomla 1.5 full kit
    2. Installation of Teline IV template and extensions

The magazine menu did not appear in the resulting sequential installation. I have not installed the plg_jazin.zip yet, as you suggested in response to my other post.

Is the plg_jazin1.0.1.zip” the latest version, and is it needed for and compatible with a similar sequential installation for the Joomla 1.6? Can someone include the latest version of the plg_jazin.zip as one of the independent extensions in the Teline IV?

By the way, in the latest version I installed on 27 Jan, the SIGPRO also worked. I will note this in the separate thread on the SIGPRO.

P.S. After doing all the above, installations, I found tonight that there is another update of the Joomla 1.5 Teline IV.

Based from my investigations, I now prefer the sequential installation of Joomla and the Teline IV, while it involves a lot more work in the beginning. It makes it easier eventually when customizing the site — since I have learned a lot from the experimentations I performed with the Teline IV sites, even if I had to delete the earlier ones because of a bug.

Yes, Presently, The JA Zin Plugin does not have any version for joomla 1.6, and the version 1.0.1 is latest for joomla 1.5 only

    Thanks

    Thanks tienhc,

I would be grateful if I be notified when this feature is integrated and verified to work in Joomla 1.6.

I should note also that when I tried to add the stand alone jazin plugin in a sequential Joomla 1.5 kit, then separate installation (using the install/uninstall) option of the Joomlart extensions, the standalone jazin plugin messed up the installtion. I am not too sure what happened. So, I gave up on that approach.
