Both Joomla 1.6 and 1.5 versions of the Teline IV template do not have the feature of automatically including any new created Section, and Category, as root, and in the respective Section, respectively.

In contrast, in Teline II in a Joomla 1.5 ecosystem creating a Section or Category triggers automated inclusion in the Magazine menu.

This feature is very critical feature to avoid errors in Category ID assignment.

There are other missing features of the Magazine menu and the other Menus. As requested by a Moderator, they will be reported separately.

I did that in one of the Sandbox sites I am experimenting with. Is this a standalone plugin or just in Teline II? Is the version included in the Teline II the latest version, and will this be compatible with Joomla 1.6?

I would be very grateful if the latest version of the plg_jazin.zip be included as one of the independent in the Teline IV download page also.

I found out that my sequential installation:

1. Joomla 1.5.xx full kit
2. Teline IV template and extensions

does not have the magazine menu, and thus require the plg_jazin.zip?

I am not sure if it is simply an omission of the earlier versions of the Joomla 1.5.22-Teline IV (installed 14 Jan) or did not activate the feature properly.

I did another Teline IV Quickstart installation last Friday, and the leap frog mechanism seems to function. But, as I noted in my other posts, I deleted all my installations because of a bug.

The sequential installation did not have this bug, as I did not included the sample_data.sql. After doing more investigation and the information provided by my webhosting service, my hypothesis was that the sample_data.sql was the source of the bug.

N.B. Are you involved in the development of the Teline IV? I quite like the basic layout.

I found more possibilities that I wanted to try about the general layout when I did the sequential installation of the Joomla1.5 then the Teline IV extensions and template.

Update: 20110131 I installed the independent plg_jazin.zip from the latest Teline 2 temlate. It loaded. I changed the settings to publish.

In the Eidtor Window, the Magazne Menu manager was showing the old default sections and categories from the Joomla installation, as well as new test section and categories but the new additions did not show in the Front End of the Magazine Menu.

The added section and categories do not show in the BackEnd or FrontEnd, in the Main Menu. Right now, the only way for the categories to show in the Magazine Menu and Main Menua), is for me to type them manuallly in the Main Menu

With the issues encountered in the Teline IV-Joomla 1.5, including unexpected impact of the independent installation of the jazin plugin (see previous response), my focus now has shifted to the Teline IV-Joomla 1.6 (TEIV-J16).

While there are more issues that remain unresolved in TEIV-J16, the plunge is worth doing for new sites or major redo of existing sites, since Joomla 1.6 is the future of Joomla. Among the issues unresolved in the latest release of Teline IV-Joomla 1.6 (TEIV-J16) include

the absence of automated inclusion of created categories in the Magazine menu
