August 13, 2009 at 5:24 am #143421Ok i try again to post here, lets see if its working this time 😉
On request of support here my original post:Suggestions for next update which seems to be important, at least to me who want to run it 😉
1. Latest Jobs or Joblist.
Where you can see Employer it shows the Username which is used during signup. Nobody cares for any person of a company who posted this job. It should show the company which is really recommend!2. Date It should not show 4d,10h ago.
It should show the date as this is more easier for jobseekers.3. Username
The username is useless for the frontend, only needed by the system to handle different things. It should be seperated between “username” “contact person” and “company”. Really important. Company name should be showed on the frontend ie on jobs list where employer is shown. On Jobdetails username should be changed to contact person. You have to find the differents of it. Username is not needed by anyone who is looking for a job. They want to know from which company is this posting and who they have to contact therefor contact name should be also created and displayed. Direct from core without adding files manually.4. Company logos
These are not resized proper. Take a look on featured employers or on a job.The image is shrinked or strechted. The only place where the logo is displayed correct is on company profile. To look more professional its relevant to fix this asap.5. Filter jobs
Its not possible to sort then fromthe Ajax module or whatever it is. I have created a new location list from A – Z but it shows only as Z – A.6. Posting a Job – Category
The field category is far to small and not sorted from A – Z. Also there is no chance to see which category has a submenu. Maybe a dropdown would work. Also, is there a chance to post in 2 categories?7. Sending mail
When you set employees need to be approved you are not receiving any mail that there is someone who needs to be approved.8. CSS
I would like to redesign the job list but where can i do this? A simple and easy solution would be great.9. Posting Job
Would it be possible to give the employees a WYSIWYG editor?10. Friendly URL
I have enabeld all things for friendly URL also mod rewrite, nearly everything seems to be working but when i view a profile im getting this url: /component/jajobboard/japrofiles/102-COMPANY Due to securtiy concerns i want that it does not display jajobboard, japrofiles and component.11. Switch for employer
The employer should have an option To choose if he want to post contact details or not. If not, the jobseeker should post the application only online. So all in all, employer says: Use contact details or send it online.
Right now also the email from employer is not protected in any way. If you are displaying it, maybe you can work around. Show something like this: Email: Click to see
And after click the email is displayed.I really like this product thats why i bought it. Now i want to go online asap but i need those things fixed. Hopefully there is an update soon covering all these things. Keep going on your good work guys and thanks!
+Hope that helps you to improve your script, i have many ideas to follow if you need 😉

August 13, 2009 at 12:35 pm #314092I have had the same issue with the sorting of the locations…I have a ticket out, and have also requested on how they fixed it. I will pass along the info onceI get it. I agree this as an Awesome product and hopefully they will make some changes in the near future. I would like to see a searh plugin moded so that job baord could be seached my the core search comp. Which would allow to have a great search option outside the ja board comp. Overall this is a great product, and i am looking forward to future updates to it.

August 13, 2009 at 1:52 pm #314106Exactly this would be another great idea. Search module for other website. Did you tried it already?
Im hosting different Joomla websites and it would be great to give my visitors the chance to use the search from this site also and are redirected then to the job page.
Nice idea 😉makia Friendmakia

August 14, 2009 at 6:10 am #314196Hi
To simplify the login process for the job seekers and employers, it would be essential to have the decision making right at the login. The actual solution is choosing the category after registration. And there are only some small radio buttons placed. My suggestion (see attached image) should be something like this

Kurt

August 14, 2009 at 6:23 am #314198Hi
I’d like to have something like<blockquote>Created your Job Alerts yet?
Create your own personalised Job Alert today and never miss a great opportunity!Whenever an opportunity meeting your criteria is posted, you’ll be the first to know. Just like your very own personal Recruitment Consultant.</blockquote>

August 18, 2009 at 10:38 am #314616Good post Nickel.
I have a few support tickets open but my bug list includes the following:
1. When posting a new job the following error is received:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAJobBoardModelJAJobs::updateAcc() in /home/SITENAME/public_html/recruitment/administrator/components/com_jajobboard/models/jajobs.php on line 0”The job does post but the error needs to be fixed
2. When a new job is posted it doesn’t show up in the “jobs list” to the job seekers in the front end (which is kind of a big bug…..understatement). This is probably linked to the above bug.
3. When trying to access the “jobs board” in the admin section (Components>JA Jobs Board) the following error is received:
“This web page has a redirect loop.” (Repeated refreshing sorts this but still needs fixing)Very very frustrating
