I’ve looked high and low but can’t find the option to have a menu choice open a new page (which I want to look different than the frontpage). I know it’s there, but maybe don’t know the terminology. Help?

I found the “open in new window” option when creating the menu item, but I’m still in the dark about how to set it up to make the second page different than the frontpage. I want my navigation to appear the same as the JA Antares demo (new page without the header and user8,9, top modules).

I might be a bit off, but you can in the “templates manager” choose to have a certain template applied to a specific page or part of your site. You select “apply” or something in the template manager section. You can see it there for sure. But if this is exactly what you are asking, I am not sure. 🙂

I thought about doing that, but I don’t know how to “create” the alt template. I want my JA Antares front page, just without the fancy modules showing up. Is there a “copy” command somewhere? Once I create (or find) the template I want to use, how do I get Joomla to recognize it? I’m sure that there’s one already there waiting for me in a directory somewhere, but I’m such a joomla/php newbie that I don’t fully understand the logic.

    Thanks for helping.

I knew it was there all along. I just assigned the modules to the main/home page and none of the others.
