June 25, 2015 at 3:52 pm #207849Hi guys
I’m working with this new awesome template but i’m having some problems with “live customization”.
In few words, after editing some CSS values changes are not visible instantly on live site, but come out after several minutes. (even if i edit my custom.css or original css files: bootstrap, template etc. or t3 dev less files)This happens with this template configuration:
Dev Mode : OFF or ON (same way)
Theme Magic: OFF
Legacy Comp. : ON
Responsive: OFF
Build RTL CSS: OFF
Optimization (both CSS/JS) : OFFSo, i tried this alternative configuration:
Dev Mode : OFF or ON (same way)
Theme Magic: OFF
Legacy Comp. : ON
Responsive: OFF
Build RTL CSS: OFF
Optimization (both CSS/JS) : ONAnd boom, finally css changes appear instantly on my live site, only with Optimization option activated.
But its really annoying because, as you know, it’s really complicated localize wich css file i need to editingOf course in all cases: Joomla cache disabled, hosting cache system disabled, browsers cache clean
How can i work with “live customization” without optimization option ON?
I never had this problem with your templates

June 26, 2015 at 3:12 am #575560Hi rickvandick,
I think that this relates to the ‘Development Mode’:
– When it’s ON: your site will load LESS files (not css files) and you will customize by changing style in LESS folder: root/templates/ja_charity (your default template)/less/ (the Optmization option will be disabled and not have affect on your site)– In case, the ‘Development Mode’ is turn OFF: your site will work with CSS files, when you turn OFF the Optimize CSS/JS option, you will know exact css file you need to customize (via editor like Firebug or Inspect Element). And actually, we recommend you to add your custom css code into the file: root/templates/ja_charity/css/custom.css
When you enable the Optimize option, all css/js files will be compressed and saved in ‘t3-assets’ folder – pls do NOT add your custom code into files in this ‘t3-assets’ folder as it’s temporary files only.
I hope this make senses.

June 26, 2015 at 8:58 am #575607Hi Saguaros thanks for your answer
I tried also with development mode turn ON, but changes made in my custom.css file or in others css/less files (template, bootstrap etc.) appear only after several minutes and not “live”.
I noticed that only with Optimization option turn ON my changes appear instantly on my live site. With dev mod ON or with dev mod OFF, it’s always the same:
DEV MODE: ON + OPTIMIZATION OFF = css/less changes appear after several minutes
DEV MODE: OFF + OPTIMIZATION OFF = css changes appear after several minutes
DEV MODE: OFF + OPTIMIZATION ON = css changes appear instantly on live siteAs you can see, imho it’s the optimization option the focus of the issue, but i don’t really understand why :((

June 26, 2015 at 9:03 am #575608I’m not entirely sure there is problem with your hosting or not but you can disable Dev Mode + Optimization ON and add your custom code into ‘custom.css’ file.
We also recommend this settings as it takes time to load LESS files (Dev Mode ON) rather than css files.
