Since JA Nex was intended for a news website, what do the developers suggest to optimize a news website with K2 and having thousands of articles. I do not want to unpublish them, since it would not serve the purpose of having a news website.
Tried to search for an archiving option for K2 items, but did not get any results.
What would be the best way to keep the articles and keep the database efficient?

If I am not wrong, the K2 Tools Archive module is for displaying articles like monthly archives.
But how do you actually move the articles to an archive state and reduce the number of current articles on the sites and subsequently reduce load on the database.
My question is coming from this link which was suggested by support to improve website performance…

I had raised a support ticket as my news website based on NEX with K2 was using very CPU resources, inspite of having a VPS.

Good choice ! Joomlart developers will find a solution for this and maybe you can post this solution in this thread so other users can read it

December 14, 2012 at 2:39 pm #476297Hello idesignperfect,
It’s good or not depends on view point of each user, but K2 has a large amount of users using it.
If you have any concern about K2 component, please go to forum of K2 and raise a ticket: http://getk2.org/community/index
