Hello i am using ja_purity and i want to opimize it because after the http://www.joomlaperformance.com analysis i saw that there are 230 http requests & 220 images and about 7 css although i use just 3. These results are scary or its just my though ? In the details there are many requests like
    /templates/ja_purity/images/star-bg.gif
    /templates/ja_purity/images/ol-bg.gif
files that i dont need. any good suggestions how to optimize it?

    Thanks in advance,
    c

Sometimes the on-line checker are trying to load files which are actually not loaded by browser when page opens.
From my experience it’s better to use Opera or Chrome Dev. Tools.

as far as for the files like
/templates/ja_purity/images/star-bg.gif which are included in the css but not used? I havent delete them so far cause i am not sure if these files are being used in backend of in another page of the site and not in the frontpage.

Try to use a Page Speed browser add-on plugin for Firefox to determin your page speed. It matters to Google too as it recomends it on its webmaster tools page.
