September 12, 2008 at 5:13 am #270172Hi caclemor
Fantastic looking site – great job!
My only criticism (and this is a really minor one) is the text in the 3 ‘showcase’ ads on the front page. I found the text was really tight to the left hand side of the image:
Not sure if it’s possible, but a slight indent from the left would make this look sooooo much better!
Thanks for the heads-up re the directory listings, they look absolutely awesome, I’ll research the extension myself.
Great site …
Chris

September 12, 2008 at 9:48 am #270188A really good use of the Ja Rochea template well done.
To sort out the tight text in your spotlights do the following…
<p>Your text comes here….</p>
Are we missing some of your header image?
Nice colours 😉

Thanks for the recommendations on the spotlight issues. Easy fix and will make so immediately.
Also thanks for the Kudo’s….
Can you explain what you mean about the header image?? Or send me a screen capture. I think all is well but always room for improvement or oversight!

September 12, 2008 at 4:07 pm #270235Hey Chris,
If you start using SOBI2 for directory listings, be ready for some minor frustrations. However, it is a great tool and very customizable.

September 12, 2008 at 4:28 pm #270239Nope. That is the style in the header. Thanks for sharing and looking out for my backside. Since you seem to be good at this stuff. I am trying to create a test environment (which I know, bad me) and having a heck of a time trying to set up a testing site vs. a production site. Any tips??

September 12, 2008 at 6:03 pm #270245you issue is more with your hosting company than with joomla itself.
you can get the answers to setting up a test site on the joomla.org forum as that does not apply to the template, but joomla itself.
bit if you use joomlapack, you download your backup, unzip it and then upload it to a subdirectory on your server, make sure you create a new mysql db for it and it will install just like a JA Quickstart package.
then you will have you test site. just make sure you create that new db and an empty configuration.php file for it.
joomlapack has pretty detailed step by step instructions.

September 12, 2008 at 11:04 pm #270264Thanks for your suggestions MJ1256:
tried that and kickstart isn’t working. I will deal with them on their forum. set up a folder, did the backup, loaded the zip of the file, loaded kickstart, went to the url with the name of the site/folder/kickstart.php. doesn’t work.
but the it is all there. new database, but the only thing I don’t know how to do that you recommended was a blank php
hope you have a great weekend.
