Hello guys this is my first post.
I am trying to use a video in uber corprate that is hosted with the website, not youtube or vimeo. Hero module can only use id’s for those 2 types. how can I do this? is it better to upload the video to youtube/vimeo?
Also as I am new to joomlart, I used a few templates and I see that most pictures are not configured responsive. How can i find the exact image sizes that fit to the container and are responsive?
Staff, I also entered one of my domains but not the actual one I will use for this website. At the moment I have nothing live I am just getting used to the templates in xampp.
thank you

January 22, 2016 at 10:43 am #865243Hi @lim15geo,
Just got noticed from our general staff about your other questions so I’m going to write my answer here :
Actually there’s no such term "responsive image", we used some technique to make the image look fine in tablet / mobile layout. In addition, all images in the demo site are optimized already so I’m sure what you mean
most pictures are not configured responsive
Please clarify a little bit or provide a screenshot indicate the problem so I can assist you better.
To get the image width, you can use Page Ruler (for Chrome) or MeasureIt (for Firefox).
Last thing is the matter with domain. Each time you request for technical support, you will have to provide your domain due to our support policy, the provided domain will be marked as registered and you cannot change that.
Best regards,
Adam.
January 22, 2016 at 10:57 am #865248Hello Adam, thank you for your response.
2 things to explain.
in joomla i generally use img-responsive property to have the images scale for different devices
now in uber.
there is no option to set this property (you can use cover, 100% or anything else but not the actual img-responsive property.
i understand/know that any image must be in the proper size/aspect ratio to function/display correct for any screen size. in uber i see actual image sizes from 2500px_1400px to anything a little bigger than 16:9. I prepare all (or most of my images as 16:9 as a general rule)
Now, unite revolution slider that you have customized.
i have purchased in the past and used extensively unite revolution slider. And I understand how this image story works. I do not expect everything to be perfect at any size or device. There are exceptions that are not relevant to the design (such the quality of software/hardware of the visitors device).
unite revolution slider has all the necessary options from the component to help you achieve "nearly perfect" result". But here i assume that the issue is on the @media sizes configuration, or in the container sizes.
About getting information from the browser to troubleshoot, i use firebug to get all the necessary information.
Please explain if i am missing something or i have understood something incorrectly.Thank you in advance

January 25, 2016 at 8:38 am #867538Hi @lim15geo,
-
To be honest, I’m not sure about the img-responsive property you’re mentioning about. In general, all images are set to not exceeded 100% container width in smaller device, that’s all.
-
We are not providing the extension called unite revolution slider, if you have any problem regrading this extension, please kindly contact its developer instead.
- Actually it’s hard to solve the problem that you only assume it in firebug because maybe it’s just not happen like that way in real device. If possible, please provide a screenshot about the actual problem so we can assist you better.
Best regards,
Adam.
January 25, 2016 at 9:37 am #867607Hello Adam, I suggest this:
- make a new joomla installation
- create one category, one article and one menu with this article.
- open the article.
- put an image inside and close it. open it from any device. The image will not fit ANY screen even if you have set a responsive container, this image will still exceed the screen if it is bigger.
- now open the same image in this article. go to the image properties and set class img-responsive. now it works as it should and obeys the container rule. firebug is just a tool to give you an idea of where the proper configuration value is located in your folder structure. if you need to really test something, you have to open it in a device.
But at the moment, I am opening uber site in different devices and the images of the sliders are not behaving the way they should. even in my regular desktop screen, I open uber and see a slider, and then open the actual image from the folder and i see that the image has more and it is not displaying properly. This problem was solved with the unite revolution slider. What I am saying though is, that I have purchased those templates to be able to configure everything from your module, not adding additional plugins, modules or components. Does this clarify my point? Anyone else having the same issues?
Also Adam, you can check the specific issues I am describing in this post. https://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/how-to-make-the-slideshow-responsive/

January 26, 2016 at 11:36 am #868808Hi @lim15geo,
For the image in article part, please open file templates/uber/css/custom.css then add this code :
img { max-width: 100%; } .article-image-full img { width: auto; }
About the image in slideshow, I’m afraid that as Saguaros described in another thread, there’s a limit in the current version of slideshow. He also provides some fixes which you can check (I myself would suggest the same fix as as well).
Hi @timtecsa,
Many thanks for your mention. Yes, I must admit this is such a pain but at the current state of slideshow module, we will need to work on it a little bit more to bring out the best solution.
