Hi there,
I’m trying to translate Our services to Nos services with no success.
Its working just fine when I change the file en-GB.tpl_ja_nuevo.ini as described below. But that’s not what I want.
I need the website to be in both english and french so I created a folder fr-FR with the right files on it (a copy of the en-GB for now). When I’m modyfing the fr-FR.tpl_ja_nuevo.ini, nothing happens. It’s still looking in the en-GB.tpl_ja_nuevo.ini file.

Any idea of how to have the french version working ?

thanks for reading this

Changing the text “Our Services”

The text is defined in the language file en-GB.tpl_ja_nuevo.ini. open the file and find the language define:

TPL_SPOTLIGHT_TITLE =”Our Services”

Now change the text “Our Services” to any text you want.

Hi

The account you provided here for your backend login doesn’t works

anyway try to override from language manager > Override > new > for the french language and add the TPL_SPOTLIGHT_TITLE string with your translation in

Thanks for your answer.
It’s working just fine.
It’s a pity it’s not working with the fr-FR folder. It’s not a big deal for this one as there is just one variable I want to change but it would be usefull in later template to be able to translate the language file.

hey, @fredtep,

not sure i understand your problem right..so don’t know, if this could be helpful, but:
did you install French language on your site? You can do it when you go to “Extensions” > “Language Manager” and click on “Install Language”. Then the FR Folder should be created automatically. And under “installed site” you can set French as Default. Then all joomla standard words would be translated on the site and you would only have to translate the template words.
By the way, when making overrides you have to filter fo French-FR-Site (or similar) on the left, then it should work.

maybe i could help.. or you maybe meant something different..
