I have made the required changes to purity_iii/tpls/blocks/footer.php to remove the Bootstrap and Font Awesome copyrights from the display and the footer is displaying properly.

Is there a way that I can override footer.php so that it is not overwritten whenever the Purity 3 template or the T3 framework is updated?

Copy the footer.php file and paste it in
templates/purity_iii/local/tpls/blocks/ folder.
