    Hi there,

    I’m hoping to launch my site by Monday, but am having issues with the padding on the content.

    JWBRETT helped me add a background shadow to the content (which works great), but one of the resulting issues was a mis-alignment of certain content views. I’ve tried to fix it, but it’s still messed up.

    Here is a run down of how the content is appearing:

    Standard View:

    Small- content to edges
    Med- looks normal
    Large- looks normal
    XL- looks normal

    Image View:

    Small- looks to have dbl padding
    Med- looks to have dbl padding
    Large- looks to have dbl padding
    XL – looks to have double padding

    How can I fix this so all views look normal.

    Thanks,

    Vineyardseashell

    Hi vineyardseashell,

    I’m not so clear with what you meant about double padding here

    Please compare the padding of your site with out demo (should have same style – Minimalist) and see if it is different or not.
    If you want to reduce the padding on your site, it seems easy to do so.

    Please open /templates/ja_wall/themes/minimalist/css/theme.css and focus on line 455.

    .item .item-inner {
    background: #FFF
    border-radius: 0;
    box-shadow: none;
    transition: box-shadow .2s ease 0s;
    margin: 5px; /* change this margin - will make block come closer */
    }

    You can change the margin here to 5px if you want.

    Hope it helps.

    If you still have question, please describe it in details or a screenshot will be clearer.

    Regards

    Hi Wall Crasher,

    Thank you for the information, I’ll look a that file to see what mine has.

    Normally, I would have sent an image, but my desktop is down with a Windows error message- which can’t be fixed until I find my original keyboard; When I didn’t want the darned thing (keyboard), I was always tripping over it, so I put it away, and now I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if I could find it now. So for now, I’m stuck on my little netbook which only has the basic software it came on. 🙁

    Thanks again, and I’ll let you know how it turns out.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Wall Crasher,

    No, that didn’t work 🙁

    The only way to describe it-

    JWBRETT helped me add the back shadow to the standard view of the minimalist template. So now when you mouse over the item in either standard or image view there the back shadow hightlight the content box.

    If you look at my site or the JA Wall demo in any view/size- when you mouse over the article contents, the content (words) appear to have approx a 1/4 inch margin from the edges of the box.

    In my case, when viewing the contents in i.e.) Standard small view, the content has no margins and is flush with the edge of the box.

    When viewing in standard, M, L, XL the content appears to have the appropriate content margins.

    While on other views i.e.) image view S, M, L, XL the content text margin appears to be almost doubled showing approx 3/4 inch margins on the content.

    Over the weekend, I played around with all the css files, but couldn’t get all the views to look right.

    Wish I could send an image….

    Thanks,

    @wall Crasher,

    I found a way to do a screen shot– Paint. Who knew. I apologize in advance for the images, I’ve never used Paint before.

    Attached are a couple of screen shots showing the content margins/padding issues I’m having on the:

    Standard View Small, and

    Image Views: S M L XL.

    This little snafu is the only thing holding me up from launching the site, and I would really appreciate getting it solved 🙂

    Thanks,

    Vineyardseashell

    Hi vineyardseashell,

    Backup your css files first and try to overwrite these two files with the package I attach here.

    /templates/ja_wall/themes/minimalist/css/theme.css
    /templates/ja_wall/css/template.css

    Then clear the browser cache 🙂

    If possible, in the next time, PM me admin and FTP account, I shall check for you.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Wall Crasher,

    Thank you! :). I’ll upload the two files as you suggested. If I run into any problems, I’ll send you a PM. I’m really excited, I simply love this template and have been dying to use it for ages.

    Thanks again!
