I try to get padding on the right custom module, but I get no padding. How can I get padding? I have used the latest JA Nickel template from 03-25-2009.

you open file templates/ja_nickel/css/template.css and find line
#ja-col2 div.ja-innerdiv {
border: medium none;
padding-left: 10px;
}
and change padding to your requirement.

Yes! thats what i thought, I have been there. But it look like this line of css don´t work with the modules I put in this position. I still get no padding with custom modules?

Since the custom module is for html, then why not use a div tag

<div style=”width:100px;margin:auto;padding:10px;>
YOUR CONTENT
<div>
