When we load our website (http://www.indu.dk) it takes like 10-15 sec. for it to load….a regular website takes half the time on our broardband connection.

Please let me know if this a known bug and if there is an update or a workaround?

just had a look (with Firefox) and the site is slow indeed…

but not sure if this is a bug or a template problem – each of your header images is around 100KB and more than 20 of them are preloaded before the slideshow can start… even on broadband that takes time (on the server side and on the client computer )

maybe the sequence of the page elements being loaded can be changed, so that everything incl. small graphics and sideboxes is loaded BEFORE the slideshow…

And maybe you can optimize the graphics a bit further – should be possible to bring them down to 60-70 KB each and maybe use less of them.

    Thanks for a quick reply!
I did try to unpublish the header module, but it only saved me 3-4 sec.
This URL will take you to the page without the header: http://legeplads.indu.dk/index_chr.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

loads in the blink of an eye… so at least with Firefox it is just a matter of the heavy graphics header.
Don’t have any Windoze crap here right now, so I can not confirm how it works with IE.

Maybe someone else can check it out or has additional ideas.

😉 I’m all in to MAC too, but in this world you still need to make sure that everything works in Explorer as well.
