How can I pass fields/parameters(i.e. user name) from joomla to an php program?

Just curious — is this because you have integrated your own program to your joomla site? You want to crreate permissions for access to that program?

Some more info on exactly what you are trying to accomplish would help trying to find a solution.

Thank you for the reply, I have a program that is written in php and html, You need user name and password to access it. I have intergrated my program into my templete but I would like to use the joomla login but like i said i need to pass the user name and password from joomla to my program. P.S. I did have to create additional tables on the database that houses the joomla templete.
