July 24, 2008 at 11:46 am #131283OK. My last few questions and problems have been ignored (but nothing new there of course).
:((
I really need some offical JA input here for once. My site is getting ready to launch and we have paid THOUSAND OF BLOODY EUROS in advertising, which is now booked and I can not cancel (I really wish I’d never joined JA, nor dowloaded Teline as the last few weeks have been wasted trying to get a ‘paid for’ template which should work, to work).
Apart from my many other, still ‘unsolved problems’ (for instance, my, Register to Read More’ or even ’10th section does not format like others’) . I’ve now given up on any ‘official’ response to those points and no longer expect one, nor care. I’ve changed our entire marketing strategy because of the lack of JA support … at considerable cost to my company.
This time, I would appreciate a response:
Here is my article:
I click on the PDF icon and here is the PDF version:Totally unacceptable. Anyone any idea how to fix, and quick?
Am I annoyed, yes I’m ****ing annoyed. 12 months subscription for support. The only time I got ‘official’ JA support, they couldn’t fix the problem.
The only ‘support’ I’ve had is from regular forum users, that like me, have paid their money and are just trying to help each other.
Ah well, back to banging my head on a wall … funny, I thought I’d got over that one a few weeks ago due to the total official JA support. Great sales pitch. Shit support.
Rant over

Like me, one of the things I left until last … I suppose I just expected it to work!
Guess I should have known better by now :((

July 25, 2008 at 3:54 pm #262310hello questbg,
I understand your frustration! I started to use Teline II on a production site as I thought it was a stable thing not just an alpha testing platform for a comercial product.
My site does pdf as it should but it grabs the whole page, sidebars and the lot.
I dont know way yours looks like it does?
Could it be different versions or some other component that I might have that you dont use.
take a look at my site and try the pdf thingy there. http://www.guatemala-times.comBosse
Ps Off to a nation wide conferance to present our site for sponsors, etc and still errors showing……

July 26, 2008 at 5:01 am #262396Hi Bosse
Hope the conference went well.
Very odd, on your site, I click the PDF icon and I get a new window with exactly the same content as the page I was on! Just like when I click the ‘print’ icon, but with all the ‘other’ bits of the page (ads, tabs, etc).
Odd!
3 days and no response! Ah well, same old story I suppose.

July 26, 2008 at 4:11 pm #262471Hello questbg,
I do think that this might have somthing to do with the SEO I am using. I need to try it on a test site ware this is not implemented.
Well I tried on my vanilla TlineII 1.4 and nothing shows in the pdf window. This makes me believe that there is nothing on my server that handles the pdf request. I will search this as I do belive it is php/Joomla related NOT JA. Even if we tend to blame all evil on JA now days 😉I’l be back

July 26, 2008 at 9:46 pm #262507Hi Bossep-
Maybe I’m wrong, but you are not getting a PDF either. I tried it with IE and FF and what I get is a new page ending with .pdf extension, but do not open in Acrobat Reader…

July 26, 2008 at 10:34 pm #262511Hello anaivelisse,
Right you are! To be honest I dident check this untill now. I was actually happy that it was not a 404 showing.
I dont hink this is related to Teline II. It is probably php or Joomla related. I will look into this a bit later as it is not # 1 on my priorety list at the moment.BUT I am interested to find a solution to this.

July 27, 2008 at 4:23 am #262520Hi Questbag
I amusing Teline II on a localhost and after reading your post, decided to try out the PDF function.
My PDF output is even worse ..no picture appears !
I feel sorry that no one from JA is assisting you especially now that you are so close to your launch.
Maybe you can inactivate the PDF function for the time being until we get an acceptable answer.
Note : I went to the Joomla site ( http://www.joomla.org) and guess what ? If you print an article in PDF on the Joomla site ….you also dont get any image appearing ! 🙂 So it looks like a Joomla problem !!!!!
I will post a question in the main Joomla site and see what happens ….will update you

I sent an e-mail directly to Hung Dinh yesterday and he replied saying he would have a JA developer investigate this on Monday, so hopefully, between JA and Joomla we’ll find a solution!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Cheers

July 27, 2008 at 9:36 am #262542Hi questbg
Still no reply from the main Joomla forum.
I find it hard to belive that Joomla has a pdf bug in both the 1.5x and 1.015 versions !
Maybe, no one bothers to print out it pdf so that this bug has never been discovered ?

July 27, 2008 at 11:11 am #262547Hiya guys,
Just want to confirm that this is an issue with Joomla! itself. We do not modify the pdf joomla files whatsoever.
I suggest getting into contact with them at http://www.joomla.org.
