April 8, 2009 at 7:44 am #140065Hi there i was wondering if someone could suggest the best option to display pop up photos beneath an article.
The Module or plugin would need to be displayed more then once on a category for instance i’m creating more then one post in an article on restaurants and for each seperated post i would like to display photos of the restaraunt beneath it.
like this http://www.java.com/en/Heres what i mean.
http://reporter.elanguest.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=91&Itemid=479What would u think is the best way.
Also is there a way i could place each post into an actual seperated area — basically so it looks neat

In my Teline II Sandbox 099, there is an article there to address several question here posted in a number of threads
Image Presentation : Possibilities:
if you click page two of that
SIGPRO SlideShow Presentation
check what happens when you click on the first single image and keep on clicking the large image for more photos, or any of the slides in the second set below it.
There is another commercial extension, YouGallery, that does actual slideshow in each page, if that is what you want. I try to avoid too many slide shows, they keep the server working continuouly and can slow the page.
YouGallery is more expensive than SIGPRO, and the licensing is more restrictive.

April 13, 2009 at 7:08 am #301078Ok thanks for the help….
Those are good ….
Are there other suggestions for articles gallerys — plus the highslide effect requires programming
What i was looking for was a way to upload the photos and display them without that….multiple galleries one page.

bookpeg,
Actually, the two softwares I cited above do not require any programming. Just place each set of images in a directory in the images (you have to specify your “root” source of the images), then insert a simple script.
Of course, you have to read the short manual or in the case of YouGallery, you have to watch the video which I thought if only could produce stuff like those will make things easier for everyone.
It will require some research but you should look into the Joomla extensions periodically. They are coming with new ones, all the time.

bookpeg,
Here’s the dummy text of page 2:
Semper accumsan Integer nisl Pellentesque In id metus laoreet dignissim vel. Lacinia Sed convallis urna lacus interdum sagittis velit Nulla neque aliquet. Sed augue orci et libero sapien dui morbi quis faucibus ipsum. Leo ornare egestas pretium odio Nam cursus odio et quis convallis. Nam auctor suscipit interdum laoreet magna convallis egestas Suspendisse sem eu. Et cursus sapien.
{gallery}bos/bos080507/bos080507c:600::1{/gallery}
pretium Cum mauris justo eros Donec Nulla. Ligula Nunc lacus quis dui adipiscing euismod Nam mus mus eu. Aenean at vel interdum nunc elit lorem id nulla nunc Proin. A. Semper accumsan Integer nisl Pellentesque In id metus laoreet dignissim vel. Lacinia Sed convallis urna lacus interdum sagittis velit Nulla neque aliquet. Sed augue orci et libero sapien dui morbi quis faucibus ipsum. Leo ornare egestas pretium odio Nam cursus odio et quis convallis. Nam auctor suscipit interdum laoreet magna convallis egestas Suspendisse sem eu. Et cursus sapien.

Note that the single “thumbnail” presentation of the slide show only required this:
{gallery}bos/bos080507/bos080507c:600::1{/gallery}
for the second one, where all the thumbnails were shown required this script:
{gallery}bos/bos080507/bos080507c:175::0{/gallery}
How much simpler could it get?:)
There are more features, of course — but I have not explored them yet. I just wanted to know how the SIGPRO works.
It is quirky. Note that in my other (a personal page), the first image should show 600px, as indicated in the script. But here, it is showing the default size.
This should not be the case. one of the features of SIGPRO is to be able to adjust the size of the images. And, I just found the reason for the problem as I am posting this.
There is another thread here about some issues on SIGPRO (look under my initiated threads) — that discusses some problems, and solution provided by another user here. I also found some issues when I posted this here.
Too complex to explain everything here.:) We are creating another site for these types of tutorials. But, it is intended for people who actually wanted to learn and help each other because all these cannot be done by a single person. Plus, it is outside of Joomlart scope.
