November 16, 2011 at 2:20 am #170738Hello There,
I ought to add a line with the absolute path of my web site to the configuration.php in order that the module content slider can be run. I know the absolute path to my site, but I don’t know how to write the php script to add it in the configuration.php.Is this the file where I need to add that line? How do I write it? I used this line: “var $absolute_path by ‘/home/content/a/b/o/aboizan/html/iengj/’;” but this is wrong.
I would appreciate very much your help!pavit Moderatorpavit

November 16, 2011 at 6:34 am #424834Hi boizan
I think you must ask to your hosting provider the correct absolute path to their server.
/home/content/a/b/o/aboizan/html/iengj/ this is wrong because you need the server path

November 16, 2011 at 7:08 pm #424966Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I found on the web a file that added to the root of my web site could tell me the absolute path to my site. The path I found is different than the one I wrote in the illustration to my question. But what I want to know what is the correct way to add the line with the absolute path in the configuration.php file. This was the one I used “var $absolute_path by ‘myabsolutepath’;” but failed. I searched the web trying to find the proper way to write this php command, and did not find it. So I would like that you write me the line that I should add to the configuration file.
Thank you again!pavit Moderatorpavit

November 16, 2011 at 9:03 pm #424977Hi boizan
For this question is better that you ask to your hosting provider
we can not proceed by trial.
you need to put the absolute path in your configuration.php and in that file you can put only the relative path so your above syntax is correct
but for any other reason it don’t works.
you need a way to instruct joomla, that what you put into your configuration.php is an absolute path but in wich file you can put the absolute
path you must ask to your hosting provider ( maybe php.ini )

November 17, 2011 at 12:03 am #424991Hello,
Thank you for your help! I just called Godaddy and talked to one specialist. It was hard to understand me so I sent him copy of the description given in the JA Contentslider, and then he said that they can’t help me with scriptings of a third party software/module.
I was looking in my hosting files and I found a configuration.php file that does have all the lines of instructions like the one JA Contentslider requires. I added at the end this line:
var $absolute_path = ‘/home/myabolutepath/’;”I can still open the site without errors but the pictures of the articles under the module don’t come out. May be the source of this problem is different. Because if I click on the blank pictures (as it comes on the template) it opens up the articles, or if I click on the “read more” link it opens up also the article with the picture.
