I was just informed that users do not receive registration emails. I tested PHPMAIL / SENDMAIL / SMTP Mail and none work on this quickstart installation of joomla / ja_directory. I can’t figure out what is wrong, though it works on other joomla sites I have on the same hosting (dif templates)

    Hi

Mail configuration is not managed in any way by templates files , it is a Joomla core feature.

You should ask to your hosting provider to better verify your phpmail configuration on their servers and verify through mailserver logfiles which emails are sent from their servers and verify where the whole process stop .

Whats weird is, this same version of joomla, installed on the same server, using a different template works. My hosting company doesn’t see any problem with the server. Maybe I should just copy the com_mailer folder from the working template and past it on the ja_directory quick install template ?

Does the mailer feature / quick contact work for anyone else using ja_directory ? Interested what other users are getting…

I tried to register on the demo site for this template, and didn’t get an email either. Is it not setup to send on the demo? Or is this a problem with the package overall ?

I need a closer look to detect the root of the issue. Please pm me the url to access backend site(now it is auto redirected to homepage), admin & ftp account of your site.

I am not sure the phpmail function on your site works or not.

But you can try to set the configuration from Global Configuration from backend on your site as user guide for reference here

phpmail does work on my server and was tested in a standalone environment. This is why I’ve had to use the SMTP feature you see enabled via mandrill

phpmail works on other joomla installs on this same server. It just doesn’t work with the quickinstall I used for jadirectory
