    Hi Bookpeg

    Thanks for the PM

OK. This is not too bad for you as you currently have two positions available for this.

Firstly, if you type your current domain name in, followed by ?tp=1 this will show you all available positions on your front page.

You have a perfect two column position available here, just under your JA news area:

    Which you aren’t currently using!

So, first thing, is follow my tutorial here

First of all, publish the module in position ‘User8’ (not ‘left’ as in my tutorial) and check on the website front end that everything is working OK, the module looks OK and you have RSS content feeding in.

Then, duplicate the RSS feed module, edit it (change the URL for the news feed and also change ‘position’ to User9) and save.

Check the front page and you should now have a 2 column RSS feed below your current JA News content.

Any problems, give me a shout!

    Chris

Ok great i did that — how do i duplicate the module though?

First job, go back to your Module Manager and find your new module in the list, for example like below, and click the box:

Next, click on the copy icon on the top right:

This will now give you a copy of the original module in the list:

Open this and edit to suit … change name, RSS feed URL, and publish into the next position (User8 or User9, depending what you choose for the first module!).

    Good Luck!

Ok yep that is cool it worked really simple….
Now i just haveto understand why before i did all this ( so not blaming this ) adding a url to the feed mod would crash my site……
Once i figure that out then i can move on to this part which is ) very exciting :0) yayyyyyyyy

It is it’s great to be able to create your own site… Excellent fun especially when it has a purpose and is needed so thanks to this forum for all the help so far and of course all the people who are helping me learn joomla bit at a time…. seeyou

Is there a way to modify the streams text size, colour ect ?

The streams are defaulting to the default ‘link style’ which is contained in your template.css file. I’m just about to reply to your PM regarding editing colours (which is also in the template.css file) so this will give you an idea of what you need to change to affect your link style!

Yep i got that i even changed the rss feed colour but it also changed all the other colours…
Is there a way to just isolate the rss feeds settings…
For instance i placed the feeds into two seperate module positions can i change the contents in those positions that might be an idea…

Or is there another way to alter these feeds,

To be honest, this is probably burried in the CSS of the actual module.

As this is really specific to the module, and not to the template, you’d be best asking here:

    http://joomla.daveslist.co.nz/forum/

Which is a support forum for your RSS module!

The developer of the module replies on the forum and will probably be able to help you much quicker than we can!

Ok i’ll try there it would be good if i could actually just isolate the module position and change and colour withinside that mod so theres no way?
