September 14, 2015 at 2:51 am #683595It’s crucial to inform the poster whether the video has been posted or not, in order to efficiently coordinate among multiple users.
Ideally, if a video has been posted before, the poster should be told that the video exists under the respective category with the date and the user who posted it previously.Saguaros ModeratorSaguaros

Could you clarify this scenario a bit more details? where did you add the video?

September 19, 2015 at 9:22 am #686532Assuming you have 5 authors posting videos on your Joomla site. There is no guarantee that the same Youtube or Vimeo video is not posted twice or more without having a script to look into the database for the same video ID.
Currently, if a user want to make sure that the video he or she is posting has been posted before, he or she will have to look through all the videos on the website. Meanwhile, other users can be posting new videos. So it is impossible to manually check for potential duplicates.
However, a simple database query should be easy to implement.

September 21, 2015 at 6:56 am #688114It will require custom script for your site because by default, Joomla doesn’t provide that option, it just checks the ID of article/extension, not content inside as sometime, user may want to display a video in various sections on website.
