February 8, 2012 at 8:31 am #173677Hello,
we have a lot of plugin jaupdater.xxx. We want to clean this but it is impossible (see our screenshot for more understanding)
When we do this, we have this error message :
<blockquote>Plugin Uninstall: Manifest file invalid or not found.</blockquote>1) What is it ? And what is the origin of these strange plugins ?
2) How to cleanly remove?Thank in advance

February 9, 2012 at 8:30 am #437659Thank to Blaine for this very short answer!
<blockquote>delete the plugin from the database</blockquote>But what about our first question :
1) What is it ? And what is the origin of these strange plugins ?
Thank in advance
February 9, 2012 at 5:31 pm #437733Hi,
I had the same problem with a joomla plugin for K2. I installed a plugin name j-google and the plugin seem not to install completely so I tried to uninstall it and I had the same error message. Could not uninstal it properly so I went in my database with php admin and remove the plugin manually. Very anoying problem.
Hope it helps !

February 10, 2012 at 4:12 am #437777First, let me quote your ticket:
<blockquote>we have a lot of plugin jaupdater.xxx. We want to clean this but it is impossible (see our screenshot for more understanding)
When we do this, we have this error message :Plugin Uninstall: Manifest file invalid or not found.
1) What is it ? And what is the origin of these strange plugins ?
2) How to cleanly remove?</blockquote>
Sorry if my answer was too short but I answered your question on the ticket.
As for how they got there, how would I know that? I am not a mind reader nor do I have inside information as to what you have done on the site.
All I am aware of are the 86 previous tickets you have been helped on, many of which I helped with and you seemed pleased with the answer. Thanks!

February 10, 2012 at 9:32 am #437805Hello,
I do not question the previous tickets (many were bugs in the extensions and templates!), but the goal is to search the origin of the problem.
When developing a plugin and that you realize that it generates errors, you fix this to correct the problem, but the most important is to search the origin of this problem to never happen again. Maybe you can share this with developers? And for other people (the first answer is not very explicit), here is a screenshot of what you can find in the database
and the name of the table to search (this is your-database-prefix_extensions)

February 15, 2012 at 9:43 pm #438482The files mentioned in your first screenshot are from the following JA items:
googlemap
popup
jat3
tabs
thumbnails
So the question is, are theses things installed or not?
I would then do and try to remove these items from the cPanel or FTP through your host and if problem persists, I would removed the databases for these items.
I hope this helps more.dieudonne Frienddieudonne

February 16, 2012 at 11:22 am #438530Thank, and of course this item is installed.
We already delete it from the database like mentioned in our last post!<blockquote>And for other people (the first answer is not very explicit), here is a screenshot of what you can find in the database
and the name of the table to search this is your-databese-prefix_extensions</blockquote>Apparently, it is working, but we don’t understand why this item were appear.

March 28, 2012 at 7:18 pm #446203I believe this was a Joomla issue that has now been fixed. Problem is some of the problems it left behind remain. In fact one of the other template clubs have created a plugin that fixed some of the problems (though not all).
I tould be happy to try and rectify these for you dieudonne if you would give me super admin, ftp and phpmyadmin logons via PM.

March 28, 2012 at 7:42 pm #446206Thanks for your PM. As I only have a super admin logon what I will do if it is OK with you would be to install Akeeba and take a copy of your site to work on locally. I am off to bed now so it would be sometime tomorrow that I get a chance to do this. I am sure this problem isn’t too urgent as it is more of a admin issue.

March 29, 2012 at 1:07 pm #446292I tried usink Akeeba to backup your site but it seems to not work only getting to 266kb so I was unable to download it and try anything.
I am guessing that when you do a discover that the script is still finding some xml files and those are what you are seeing but without access I cannot check. I will however try to replicate on my local system.

March 29, 2012 at 1:29 pm #446294Yes, sorry, it was a problem of permissions. It is fixed and now the backup is ok.
I just made a backup, you can see it in “Administer Backup Files” in Akeeba Backup.
