I dont as I run on a client/server platform here.
If that is so could you please test this?

I don’t Bosse, unfortunately. I have a very old laptop only and I hope it will survive long enough because I would want to wait for the next system of Apple, the Snow Leopard.
Who made that?

</blockquote>Hi Bosse,
If you look at the date, this was first posted when I just came back to Joomlart. I left Joomlart since early February.
When I came back, I was frustrated with Joomlapolis because the Joomla 1.5.0 was announced since mid January 2008, and it was end of May and there was still no Joomla 1.5 compatible Community Builder.
Before I decided to shift to Joomla, I was enamored with TikiWiki because it had a very good ACL to go along with its quite refined Registration-Login. The permissions system of TikiWiki is one of the best I have ever encountered. If you can be so anal, there are so many precautions you can do, on top of the general “permissions” done in Forums, like SMF.
But, Tikiwiki was so bloated, and the syntax for wiki takes some getting used to — that it could dissuade people in participating. I was aghast therefore when I moved to Joomla and you have only two choices — Public and Registered. What is Special??? Then to top that, anyone can register if they have a valid email address. The security system of the registration and login also left much to be desired.
There are indeed a number of ACL based scripts meant for Joomla, but I looked at their pricing and usage. For my purpose, I would end up paying a fortune, literally tens of thousands of dollars.
If I can be guaranteed it would work, then that would help. But, what I realized the past year was that many of these Joomla related businesses are just too small, and many do not deliver the robust scripts that I would want to work.
I would not mind paying top dollars for an Apple computer for example, because if something goes wrong, I could go to the computer store — they either could fix it or not.
There is no such single point troubleshooting in the Joomla world — much like the Windows world. One could blame another. And no one to take the responsibility — not the Joomla team even, because of the nature of Open Source.
Some Joomla extensions are cheap, for example, but if you consider the amount of time you spend tweaking it, the labor you spend could be several hundreds to thousands of dollars, if you pay yourself. That is the hidden cost.
Since then, or even before that, there are so many things where collaborating and sharing our efforts could be helpful to all of us. For example, before you left you were asking about the a reliable hosting service? How could you really trust my own preference, no matter how well intentioned — knowing I am not really an expert on all hosting services. There are shady ones too who would foist a company because as it turned out, the hosting service they suggested was their own “reseller” account — not even a true hosting service.
As individuals who encounter so many issues dealing with website creation, there are many issues like this that we encounter. It cannot be solved by a single person. But, the idea can come from individuals. It will require us banding together to fill in the details — maybe the specifications as you stated. — so a team, with a known Team Leader must take charge, eventually answerable to the group.
My only criteria is that everything must be transparent.
<em>@bossep 70822 wrote:</em><blockquote>
What does the people “investing” get? Free use of the Extension or?
Bosse</blockquote>Honestly, I find the concept of “investor” so perverted today that i do not even want to use it now. It has lost its meaning. I don’t see why Carl Icahnn for example should have any say in the deciding the Fate of Yahoo — just because he amassed so many shares of Yahoo. In my own small way, collectively with all the users of Yahoo, we are the ones who made Yahoo what it has become — that is true for a ny company, public or private. I was one o fhe original creators of a website in the pioneer Geocities that made it a 4Billion dollar company (when it was bought by Yahoo).
And, when Yahoo, for example through its subsidiaries like Flickr, decided not only to ignore us, but actually threaten us by evicting us, if we do not desist from criticizing their policies, they have lost many of their avid supporters. During the height of the Flickr debacle, I actually wrote a post — Yahoo may win the battle but may lose the war. This year, Yahoo is actually fighting for its very survival. I do not think my posting was the reason, but it happens when companies forget who they should listen to — their consumers.
In my own Quixotic world, after having read in passing Adams, and Marx, and a few of these economists during my idealistic stage, I came up with my own ideas of how the fruits of labor should be shared.
It is based on the concept that wealth is a social phenomenon that just by being a consumer, you participate in the creation of this wealth… da….da …da… too long to even outline here. Anyway, in such a more idealistic view of labor, they who would do the work should get the most from their effort — not the speculators. Viewed in this context, while we are consumers at times, we can also be the producers or providers of services.
So, the Collaborative Support Group I have in mind can tackle the issue raised here and more and the ones who could make them happen would be the same people in the group.

August 1, 2008 at 7:37 am #263367Hello Cornelio,
I used Joomla 1.5.5 and CB 1.2. RC2 it’s seems ok to me, but with one problem CB login form. I want to place it in the same place as it in original Teline II template. I haven’t too much time to develop it by my self so looking for somthing already made, some help or cost shareing.
Of course JoomlArt team could offer such service o make it’s template much more universal.
If you have any additional information or start develop CB login form, please inform me.
Tahnks
December 29, 2008 at 12:42 pm #284238Would any developer-member here re-think his membership if it’ll cost $5-10 more in 2009?
I don’t think anyone would disagree that cbuilder is not just another extension, so the Joomlart-team should play ball…>:(

<em>@xraydevil 130191 wrote:</em><blockquote>I am also still waiting in a cb login module which is looking nice to teline II template and joomla 1.5.x
</blockquote>I simply installed JoomSuite User component in my Telline II site which allowed me to customise the registration form and add captcha security to it.
£19 for a lifetime licence and one years support.
You can also download a one month demo to try before you buy.

ChrisJuly 9, 2009 at 1:43 pm #310487I’d like a module with features Cornelio mentioned plus an additional customizable field with a pull-down menu in order to let the registrant classify themself. I create the categories, they select.
