April 20, 2011 at 1:59 pm #163011Hello,
perhaps i didnt understand something, if so show me better 😉
im trying to set up a multilingual site (using JA Business). Since J1.6.3 we have to have seperate menus for each language. But position-7 in this template only accepts the Menu with “Menu Type” “mainmenu”.
I have the following menues:
Main Menu (All Languages)
Menu DE (German)
Menu FR (French)
Menu EN (English)the following modules:
Main Menu (status: unpublished, position-7, lang: all)
Menu DE (status: published, position-7, lang: German)
Menu FR (status: published, position-7, lang: French)
Menu EN (status: published, position-7, lang: English)The only menue getting displayed at pos 7 is the “Main Menu” even with its deactivated module state!? And mainmenu (Type) allways stays there even if you tell the mod to display it at another position.
The rest of the site works well, all lang related content is displayed like it should.
Even my menues work, IF they are NOT in position-7?!Soooo 😉 whats wrong?
thanks for helping me out.db
Uhhh… as it seems to be my first post: hello forum 😉

April 20, 2011 at 2:20 pm #387297Well, well i guess i found the solution.
I duplicate the ja-business template for each language and set the correct menu in the template settings.
seems to work out.however there is another bug, in the template manager i cant change the “Style-Name” and the “Default” value, after saving and closing i get the old values. its only for those 2 items, other settings are saved.
cheers

db</blockquote>Nope its not the solution.
If you copy the template and change the “Menu Settings”, it will also change the values for the original/copies AND not only the copy you are editing.
well, i need some sleep to come up with some other ideas 😉
cheers

April 25, 2011 at 9:33 am #387960i think that you only install some needing languages on your site, then download the joomfish component which create a site having multiple language with dynamic in text translation and content.
You try refer to its useguide to controll this in smoothly

Thank you, but there is no JoomFish for J1.6 yet.

April 28, 2011 at 4:05 am #388689yes, i tried find the JED to find a component replacing this component but i had not got luck, The joomflish seem to be a best choose http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/languages/multi-lingual-content , so you must to wait for the download a version supporting joomla 1.6

Joomlart don’ able to create multilanguages templates. This’s second attempt to create multilanguages sites with joomlart. First – Cloris. Both attempts are lost time.
Clear swindle.

thats sad, i just found another language related problem 🙁 🙁
i tricked the systems… to get my languages working etc. 1 menue for all languages.
everything works pretty good no problems at all.
BUT if i deactivate Dev Mode and activate CACHING in the Template Settings, all images will brake (images in articles). In the cache file the images get the wrong path instead of /images/stories/… it is /XX/images/… (XX for language code). So no caching for me, but the site is working now 😉
Cheers
YvesMay 12, 2011 at 7:26 am #390896I haven’t spare time fix bags (but it is great pleasure for me).
JA can’t able calculate position7 to select another menu. It’s interesting, Gavick used T3. Now has own template framework (learned T3). And has same error. But it’s templates able install twice! And it’s solution for multiling.T3 without caching – lost time for me, very slow templates. 🙂
Cheers
