I have a problem with the search module, I can see the position “search”, review the templateDetails.xml, and does not appear, I’m doing something wrong?

Try creating it in the file and sent me this error: XML Parsing Error at 73:22. Error 73: > required

Despite the error works fine, but I wonder if this bug affects me in the future?

It is so hard to debug this issue. I have checked our template again but could not find this issue.

Could you please send me the templateDetails.xml file so that i could have a closer look on the issue?

What comfused me is even if I delete a position entry from templateDetails.xml eg ja-tabs2, the deleted item will still appear in available positions in module details setup.

This position will be disappeared only if I delete all modules positioned in ja_tabs2.

It seems that joomla, when it builds the available positions array in order to display the select list, it consults both templateDetails.xml and and jos_modules (position field) table and makes a union of unique elements.

Am I right or wrong? Anyone knows?

Hi geoneto

You are using the quickstart package with an old version of template. it means that this position has not added to xml file yet.

To fix this issue, you have open xml file, add <position>search</position> code into positions tag like zagor33
