Hi,
Is there an easy way to change the positioning of the text in the module JA Slideshow 2?

I’ve changed the details in the “Mark Alignment” to every available option, but the text still sits at the top right.

Hello mate!
The ja nickel template has css codes and layout for overriding original css and layout, so that some options will not control the slideshow,

So to change position of the description, you need modify css: via opening templates/ja_nickel/css/mod_jaslideshow2.css

and find:

#ja-slideshow .maskDesc .ja-slide-desc {
background: #333333;
color: #999999;
font-size: 100%;
padding: 20px 0px;
position: absolute;
top: 20px;
width: 400px !important;
right: 20px;
}

YOu adjust value of top, right attributes
