Hy there!
Sorry, if my question is somekind of dumb… but I am new here and just paid for a 1 year subscription. So please, be kind with me 😉
I just finished to download JA Lead and had a look at it. I noticed, that there are a lot of positions listed in the .xml which not show at the template itself.
I am missing following positions:
– User 5 – 10
– SyndicateInteressting is, that at the “out of the box” full-installation of JA Lead, there is content published at those positions.
Is there any explenation or is it just sloopy programming?!
Thanks for some enlightning answers!

July 24, 2009 at 10:22 pm #312155Sometimes a few of the positions dont appear on the drop down – however simply type in the position straight into the position box as opposed to selecting them from the drop down and they should still do the job just fine!
July 27, 2009 at 8:26 pm #312408hanifahmed, thanks for your reply, but this was not the question!
In the template ARE positions listed, which do not exist… and there are some of it. Why is this so?!
Thanks for feedback

July 29, 2009 at 2:22 pm #312583I take it that you are talking about the positions that available in Joomla back-end?
That’s because Joomla provides a list of all possible positions and its up to JA to choose which ones they utilise.
JA chooses which positions to use and then its easier and quicker to leave the ones they didn’t use in there instead of removing them from the available positions – that’s why there is always more positions to choose from than there are actual positions.July 30, 2009 at 12:46 am #312634…I really do not want to overdrive it, but, as I know, it would be very easy to remove the not existing positions in the appropriate TemplateDetail.xml when making the template.
Looking at the JA_Lead template I find all those missing positions:
<positions>
<position>header</position>
<position>hornav</position>
<position>breadcrumbs</position>
<position>banner</position>
<position>left</position>
<position>right</position>
<position>top</position>
<position>ja-slideshow</position>
<position>ja-login</position>
<position>ja-tabs</position>
<position>ja-news</position>
<position>user1</position>
<position>user2</position>
<position>user3</position>
<position>user4</position>
<position>user5</position>
<position>user6</position>
<position>user7</position>
<position>user8</position>
<position>user9</position>
<position>user10</position>
<position>user11</position>
<position>footer</position>
<position>syndicate</position>
<position>debug</position>
</positions>Am I wrong, that those positions really do not exist or do I have missunderstud something?
Sorry for hacking around on this, but I have been asked and i did not had any answer on that… so I would like to know, if it is safe to delete those positions in TemplateDetail.xml for avoiding further confusion.
Thanks for any input!
