This is what I want to do in JANex.

Top-menu modules at 1180px
slideshow and and all the content modules below – I need them to be at 980 so that I can add a column of 200px that would traverse right from the top to the bottom throughout the length of the site.

This is possible, right?

It would be great if you can possibly include a screenshot and description on that particular screenshot on what you would like to do, it would help to understand the issue and give you specific answers.
