    So I am using Content Slider in my JA Ores template the way it’s configured by default, with the only exception that my content slider is grabbing its content from various article categories. Because of this, at the top of Content Slider, I see links shown to the different article categories. How do I prevent the categories from showing?

    Also, while we’re discussing Content Slider, how can Content Slider order the articles in ascending/descending order of the last modified date of the articles?

    Hi tworl!
    Are you using the category option?
    Thanks!

    Sorry, I forgot to post that I had found the solution to the category links. I had to select No for the Show Tabs option.

    I am still trying to find a solution for the ordering problem, though.

    Ordering should not be a problem. please explain more to me.
    Thanks!

    Ok, currently, I have ContentSlider showing the articles from the following categories:

    - category 1 (empty)
    - category 2
    * article 1 (1st one posted)
    * article 2 (2nd one posted)
    * article 3 (3rd one posted)
    - category 3 (empty)
    - category 4 (empty)
    - category 5
    * article 4 (4th one posted)

    I want ContentSlider to show the articles in the following order (from newest to oldest):

    article 4 > article 3 > article 2 > article 1

    I selected Sort Order by Date and Descending, but it doesn’t show the articles in the order I want.

    Hi!
    Are you sure the articles have publish dates and that cache is cleared to see the changes? This should be working that you have set the Sort Order and Descending.

    Yes, all articles have published dates and the cache was cleared. If you look at the way ContentSlider shows the articles and you compare it with the way the Blog Category layout shows the articles, you will see that they are ordered differently, even though I configured both to show the articles ordered by date and descending. The Blog Category layout did it right, but ContentSlider didn’t.

    Hi tworld!
    I have updated the content slider, please see if the update has improved the response.
    Also, please do update all other items that need attention as well.
    Let me know if we have resolved the issue for you!
    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I just checked and noticed you upgraded ContentSlider from 1.1.3 to version 1.1.8. The ordering is still not working quite right. I just saved one of my articles to make it the most recent one and then I checked ContentSlider and it didn’t show the article I just saved as the most recent one. I cleared the JAT3 cache but the problem was still there. I also cleared the Joomla cache, but it made no difference.

    Also, what is the Number Articles Display setting?

    Hi!
    You say the update didn’t help, will you confirm you have cleared the browser cache?
    May I have your permission to go into the site and update all items?
    Please also confirm what you are calling the content slider or give me a link to the page it is on.
    Thanks!

    Browser is set to not cache any files (0 cache size) and the cache was cleared too. I also tried it on two other different browsers, just to make sure.

    When you say “update all items”, do you mean all other Joomlart modules and plugins? Because I’ve already updated them all yesterday. You can go ahead and check to verify.

    Because the site is still under construction, I will send you a link to the page it’s on in a private message.

    Let me ask you~ what category do you want to have show? It seems we are dealing with the Park Blogs, yes? Or is it the TW Blog posts category?
    Thanks!

    The TW Blog post category and ARTICLES IN ALL SUB-CATEGORIES.

    Hi tworld!
    I actually did not see any article assigned to the TW Blog category.
    I ordered the Parks category if you wish to use that as a reference.
    Try adding some articles to that category please.
    thanks!

    I am not sure that you understand what I mean. The TW Blog category has sub-categories, and there are articles in two of these sub-categories (in Blog 2 and in Blog 5). Everything is already ordered correctly in the TW blog cub-categories and I want ContentSlider to show the articles in the same order that they are displayed when you click on the Read Our Blogs menu link. There is no need to use the Parks category for this.
