It’s interesting that JA switches from a stable product like Kunena to a less known forum product, brave move or wise marketing, who knows? I see the guys that make Agora currently use Joomlapraise templates modified for Agora with the product. So perhaps in future we’ll see JA templates included with Agora? Which may be a good thing. The thing I don’t understand is while JA will switch from Kunena they are NOT switching to this companies (jVital) social networking product jSocialSuite but rather still using JomSocial. It would have been nice to see this template totally using both products from jVitals as a chance to see both alternatives to Kunena & JomSocial. Hopefully in the future we might see jSocialSuite in a JA demo

JomSocial is the No1 and switching to CB, jSocialSuite or whatever will losts many user. This template here is really great and with it I will come back to JA with developer license but with jSocialSuite or whatever instead of JomSocial I will stay with Rocket and Yootheme. First thing I thouht was: “why Agora, why not Kunea?” – but I think Agora has the better team and in future Agora will the No1 Joomla forum. Agora is NOW native and Agora has also I good JomSocial integration. O.K. Agora has really bad designs but therefore we have JA.

@ja. How much will it cost to make a wordpress-theme like this one (for corePHP-wordpress/mu) … and one for mosets tree, jReviews, Zoo and SIMAnswers? Can you please make me an offer (email/pm). thx.

    Graet work JA.

Kunena is run very well now, with Joomla Core members on the development team. There is a very close collaboration between Joomla team and Kunena team and once Kunena 1.6 is released as stable soon (development is very active and updated daily) I think you will find Kunena alot better future proof than Agora who only has limited development team that hinges on only a couple of people (who also hire out to freelance coders sometimes)

Definately need all Joomlart templates to be compatible with Mootools 1.2.4 ASAP! as it is now shipped with latest versions of Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6!!!!!

Will this template be compatible with Mootools 1.2.4?

Because I will use the kunea for jomsocial group discussions, i will also be interested in a kunea version of this template. I never used agora before but kunea. Kunea is a great forum and I like it. O.K. phpBB3 is better but I don’t like bridges. I am looking forward to the kundea 1.6.

@peetree21: Thanks for the infos. If it is so as you write (core member in kunea team and so on) it seems kunea is really the better forum. But why is JA using agora? In the past they used kundea. Hmmm… I will research a little more in other forums because I am very interested in the performance and stbility of kunea and agora. I think it is not too much work to make a kunea theme based on this one here.

Just my 2 cents, but I tend to agree with others in that I would prefer Kunena over Agora. Kunena just seems more mature and the design looks much better. I’m sure JA can improve on the Agora interface, since it’s pretty ugly out of the box, especially those large icons. Kunena would seem like a logical choice and is similar to vBulletin.

….vBulletin is far ahead than Kunena but i will agree that Kunena is more mature than Agora although Agora is more years on the market.

    Very nice and clean template…

But anyone noticed that is says “Copyright (C) 2010 Sulfur. All Rights Reserved ” at the bottom left footer…?

Hmm..someone forgot to clear the obvious JA Sulfur reference … haha…

It does not mean we don’t support Kunena. Both Kunena and Agora has great team behind… It is like the story of Jomsocial and Community Builder last year. The only reason we don’t support Kunena at this time is that they are still in RC release, let’s wait until they are stable then we can consider to support both components

Sure it will be. At the moment all extensions used in JA template are compatible with 1.2.4 in 1.5.20

Let’s wait until Kunena 1.6 is stable and we ll see how we should decide on this. For a standalone forum script, I vote for Vbulletin!

I dont think that Mega Menu is compatible with Mootools 1.2.4 as when I turn on the mtupgrade joomla plugin, the child menus (the drop down ones) dont show in Mega Menu.

    Can someone else confirm this?

I am just thinking.. Wouldn’t it be nice if the template can offer rounded and non-rounded corner modules style as a template option? Like in ja_purity 2. It would surely open up more possibilities with the template.

Heck, offer a ‘bright’ colours package and a ‘pastel’ colour package. This will be a popular template for years to come! 🙂

Yes, if there is coming a upgrade with a kunena integration.

What is about JomSocial and updates? Will JA give us updates if is coming a 1.8.9 or 2.0?
