    roucou,

    Definitely, more images will slow any site — unless you take measures to optimize the images.

    One thing you may do is limit the number of modules, and pics showing in the Home page. You may show some of the extensions (modules) in inner pages, or specific pages.

    thanks again Hung for all the work going into the site. It sounds exciting, something to really look forward to. I can see it has taken a lot of thought, and vision to get this template this far. With the rest of the team, people like Cornelio and others we can find more and more ways to use this. Looking forward to release date.

    <blockquote>3. JA Popup Plugins

    Support most of the popular Javascript libraries, admin can decide which JavaScript library will be used.

    * FancyBox
    * GreyBox
    * HighSlide
    * ShadowBox
    * SqueezeBox
    * ThickBox
    * Multibox

    Support many types of content display using above frame work
    —- type=”ajax” content=”a.html” display content of a.htmp page via AJAX
    —- type=”iframe” content=”http://www.google.com” display google content via IFRAME
    —- type=”youtube” content=”youtube_link” display youtube video in popup
    —- type=”image” content=”sample.jpg”: display sample.jpg picture in popup
    —- type=”slideshow” content=”a1.jpg, a2.jpg” display a1.jpg, a2.jpb picture in popup as slideshow

    and many more..

    The advantage of this plugin is flexibility in use of JavaScript to avoid conflict with other extensions and improve the site performance. The template only load the chosen JavaScript library.</blockquote>

    I hope JA is going to deliver a nice and easy way to upload images with caption text etc. The way via JA Highslide is also nice, but too time-consuming in my opinion.

    A news-site needs an easy and fast way to upload lots of images without adding custom “caption:” tags etc. A new or enhanced “images-upload” panel on the bottom left corner would be great in connection with any popup-style java effect!

    leave2,

    Hot Topic module

    I found a way to use the “hot topic” module to replace the “Highslide” presentation of images. Hung also noted above that Highslide slows any Teline II site where it is activated. In fact, I removed the “Highslide” script altogether instead of just disabling it.

    If used properly, the old “hot topic” module in Teline II (and some other JA templates) is a good way of adding images in a general but a more dynamic manner to all pages, or to specific sections or categories.

    Unlike the Highslide or most slideshows, where you have to manually add and remove content for the images to remain fresh and dynamic, the “hot topic” module allows you to continually add new content, and it is also an automated way of adding title and caption to each image that as an added bonus is associated with an article. Thus, each image itself in the Hottopic module becomes a navigational tool that allows a site to show old articles that may no longer be in the “latest”, or do not show in “popular” article modules. As important, all you need to do is specify the categories to specify the images that will show in the Hot Topic modules (you do not have to have only one Hot Topic module).

    I am not sure if “hot topic” was retained in Teline III. I hope they did.

    JoomlaWorks SIGPRO

    Right now, I use JoomlaWorks SIGPRO. I prefer it because a portable gallery can be created very easily for each article rather than a general gallery. It is easy to revise content of the “portable gallery” simply by changing to contents of the images in a directory.

    Slideshows

    I find most slideshows rather limiting, and usually they tend to slow a page. Quite often the presentation of slideshows such as Joomlaworks Frontpage slideshow may be presented only in the Frontpage or in all pages.

    Many hosting services do not like it also because they tend to hog server CPU.

    You Tube

    Right now, I have to add You Tube media manually. I hope there is a module that will allow dynamic addition similar to the Hot Topic module. where you may even select randomize.

    One thing that I would have like also would be an easy and dynamic addition of You Tube materials using the images, rather than the link or the embed script to a You Tube media. The use of images allows optimization of the images themselves but I do not want to link them to the You Tube media link. I find some You Tube creations very powerful, but they are usually “destroyed” by the lack of moderation of the comments. It is also the reason why I have second thoughts about allowing knee-jerk commentary itself in my websites.

    Maybe a cool AJAX-Search-Box would also make sense!

    Is T3 a good name for this.

    Every time you have to write Teline III it is a bit long. Since this is a new thing, a great thing, should we call it T3 for short. Or maybe some people are fixed on keeping the name Teline. Just a suggestion.

    sunrise,

    T3 – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T3

    Historically, Teline has become a brand name. It may be the most popular template series of Joomlart, although there is no data provided by Joomlart to confirm this.

    Hung singled out the Teline series when it announced the new things to come about a year ago. So, he and Joomlart, are quite proud of it, and rightly so.

    Botanically, Teline is a genus of beautiful yellow flowers

    Well… I wanted to express my satisfaction. But since it has not been released yet, I will hold it for now.

    To all the team, Well done so far, for the hard work!

    I would have been definitely a loser if I had not found Joomlart.
