September 2, 2009 at 1:10 pm #316103Will this template be compatible with IE6? The member dialog box doesn’t popup in IE6.
Also, the sub-menus under the main menu don’t show once a main menu item has been selected.bigspring Friendbigspring

September 2, 2009 at 2:48 pm #316115Just checked out the demo again this morning (I’m pretty sure this was there yesterday too but hadn’t noticed it) and it looks like the JA Team added my request for the dropline items to have the capability of displaying a dropdown menu :-).
On the demo page:
http://templates.joomlart.com/ja_teline_iii/Just hover over the Home menu item and in the dropline bar on the far right is the “News” item…if you hover over it then a dropdown menu will get displayed with the submenu items for “News”.
Thank you for the addition (though it looks like you guys had it in there from the start since the image in the first post showed the little icon next to “News” :D)!

September 2, 2009 at 4:16 pm #316130I have a sugestion. Instead of displaying the word “Member” in the header, which opens a login form popup, just display the login form intself in the header:
========================================================
Login Name: [ ] Password: [ ] | Create Account
========================================================Once logged in, the header would display:
========================================================
” Welcome JohnS | Logoff .
========================================================I’m asking for this because the popup does not always stay open unless the cursor is in the right position, and site visitors log in all of the time, and what they do the most should up front and inviting. Also many site visitors do not know that they are “members” as currently displyed in Teline III.
I really love Teline III – excellent work!

September 2, 2009 at 5:48 pm #316137With IE7 and IE8 i get a syntax error on row 395 a lot. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. Don’t know about IE6, but also the member menu is hiding after the searchbox in IE7, IE8 it’s right.
These where my bugs, maybe i found some more later on, but then i will post again.

Thanks Zipper,
for your inputs, these have been already informed to the Developers and they have it in their priority.Arvind

September 2, 2009 at 7:26 pm #316146Not sure if the Demo is “static” or dynamic, but I am getting the weather report in St. Louis, MO. I am in Boston, MA?
I wonder what other people get?
Another request. Is there a way to have the Demo placed among the stickies? It took me sometime to find it because it was buried in the :main thread” right now.

Edit : Moved from separate thread to Teline III Demo and Preview thread. Currently this is as good as bug report thread. It would be easier for Teline III developers to follow the comments at one place. Avoid New threads till Teline is available as download.cgc0202 Friendcgc0202

Advertising is the lifeblood of every news site, yet so few templates are designed with advertising space as a priority. At a minimum I’d love to see a 468×60 advert position in the header and possibly a 728×90 above the header in this template.
Hung, it’s a royal pain for us non-tech folks but would take five minutes for you guys to incorporate prior to release. Would you be willing to add these positions for us?</blockquote>
teetide,
The best solution to this is the one suggested by Phil, and is a concept introduced in the modularization, “JA Template Framework”, being implemented with Teline III.
What is needed would be a good tutorial about creation of new “Position” and basic knowledge of CSS. This was clarified by Hainn in response to one of my posts.
An application of the modularization would be script modules for basic layouts for the header:
- single column, stack rows
- two column, stack rows
- three column, stack rows
or various combinations of the above.

September 2, 2009 at 7:50 pm #316151I have a small suggestion, i guess all english texts are in the theme itself. Let me explain better, such things as the date, last update, read more and other things.
Is it possible to make language files for that so that it can be translated outside the index.php and such? I hope you understand what i mean.

Regarding Weather / Stock Widget / twitter >>
I could not get them to work in my localhost (running xampp over winxp), these are fairly new extensions still under development, i see daily update in these extensions files in SVN, they would be stable by the time of final release. Ofcourse, bug report as yours would help in identifying such issues and will result in stable template.Arvind

September 2, 2009 at 8:21 pm #316155One innovation done with the JA News for the Homepage is to have the categories included. To an extent this is an improvement with respect to the Teline II.
Sections subpage layout2:
Option 1. I do not have access to the Admin page right now so it is difficult to ascertain whether it would be possible to have a Section subpage with a scripting similar to the JA News Frontpage, i.e., default ordering (as chosen) plus manual ordering.
Option 2. If this is not possible, I am just wondering if it is too difficult to have a layout of the Sections subpages similar to the one used in the JA News 2, as revised in Teline III .
Option 3. The “best layout” would be a Section subpage that will have both layouts combining those of the JA News Frontage (for main articles) in a section subpage, and the JA News 2 layout
Manual Ordering: This feature is very critical for some presentations, for example, articles involving history or those that require chronological or defined ordering.
It is not always possible to enter articles based on actual dates in history or as they chronologically occur. There are many cases where this may also apply, like defined ordering as warranted in the Table of contents, or alphabetical listing. These are difficult, if not impossible to achieve, with the current choices of arranging articles in the JA News module. I am not sure if this issue was addressed in JA News2 used in Teline III.

September 2, 2009 at 11:10 pm #316165Hung,,,Ja Teline III is going to blow all of the other templates out of the water. I was due to release my website ( http://www.4shotsports.com/joomla ) using Ja Teline II next week but I’m really thinking about waiting for III.
Great job!!!!!!!
September 2, 2009 at 11:30 pm #316168I’d have to agree. JA Teline III is looking fantastic. There are a couple of bugs I noticed in the demo, though.
1. Printing the page – if you try to print the page (or convert it to a pdf), no matter what you try to set it to, it’ll split the page vertically into two different pages, with the main column on one page and the right modules on another. It’ll be annoying to some users, but it’s not super-critical.
2. when viewed on the Iphone, at the bottom of the page, where the start – prv 1 2 next end appears, the part where it says “page 1 of 2” wraps over two lines and looks funny.
Otherwise, things look fantastic. Can’t wait to see this template in it’s completed form!
