Tcraw, we have paid to have JA make templates for us. I am for the most part happy with JA Sulfur but for some reason everything resembles everything else closer and closer. Maybe they need to do a bi-monthly template that is just out there. they need to get away from the comfort and shock us

And all I am saying is provide some constructive feedback and suggestion as to what would “shock you.”

JA makes templates for you . . . that’s what they do. If there are parts of any particular one you like, but parts of it you don’t, you have absolute control and ability to modify it as you see fit – make it special. This has always been the case.

My point is, it is of little value to simply say “I don’t like it, make something better” or “shock us” without providing some constructive direction and/or suggestion as to the kind of elements, layout, features you would like to see. Too much to ask ??

There are 271 separate threads in the wishlist forum, all full of ideas and suggestions. Some are a little impossible, I grant you that, but many are good ideas which the members would like to see.

The whole point of having such a forum is for JA to gauge what the members would like, so why not use it?

I usually keep quite on these preview posts, but i give it a boring rating, its just more of the same old

I believe I gave a lot of suggestions in other threads. I don’t like endlessly repeating myself like some others on here do however.

There are a few nice ideas in this template but for some reason it doesn’t gel for me. It feels a bit like some good elements thrown together but don’t quite match.

    Hello,
This template is looking great !

    That’s what makes it original I think…
And that “wasted space” can be very interesting to work on graphically speaking.

    Best regards

It is just a re working of previous templates, but with a div added on the left, which contains nothing! I see they are trying to try an original layout this seems a lazy way of doing so.

I’d like to see completely different layouts, instead of:

    menu, then below that
    slideshow, then below that
3 or 4 module positions, then below that
content with left and right (or 2 right columns) then below that
footer with 3 or 4 modules positions

Most templates follow this with just different graphics, as a developer I tend to replace the graphics anyway, using the base layout as my starting point, so to me they literally are exactly the same template re-released over and over.

I know someone will say the graphics are what makes the template, but joomla is pretty flexible, we can have modules and menus where ever we want, and there are some pretty good features that can be buit into the template with moo tools or some of the extensions around.
If I think if anything specific I want, I’ll suggest it, but we’re paying joomlart to do the thinking and designing. I have other things I need to worry about, this is why I pay to be a member of a template club.
That said I’m happy overall with the service at joomlart, I just think that unless they produce some more impressive/original templates they’ll lose customers, which will be bad for all of us. Hopefully when they go down to 1 template a month we should see improvements.

    I’ll shut up now.

I think that was probably what the designer was going for on this one.

Oh – you want constructive criticism that includes examples of what we’d like to see.

    Ok.

We’d like to see something DIFFERENT than what has been given over the last three + months.
    and
This doesn’t go on with the other top clubs: Rocket Theme, YOO Theme, Shape5.

The only other place I see bitching from the customers, like here, is over at JoomlaXTC and that’s because that guys constantly gives the run around about when templates will be released after he’s given a date.

tcraw1010 – You obviously don’t run a very large business because you can’t quite grasp basic business practices here in the U.S.

If anyone has any kind of disagreement with each other, kindly sort it out via pm and leave this post for those that want to stick to the thread.

We do not want to see arguments every month!
