That is the original topic of the template. When you refer to my example that I created upon the wish by some members Joomlart.com should also make a Real Estate Template, this is just a presentation by me personally and is not released by Joomlart.com.
Some comment above I also mentioned the available car sales solution for Joomla called EZautos.
Like I said, this template is what you refer to, any module or extensions that is not available for free will not be included in the quickstart and there may be no non-commercial extensions like this. It is as always on the designers side to make the site fit to the desired purpose. You can do the same with any other template, also with JA Quartz or ZinC, to ask for a one stop soluition to sell cars is from my viewpoint not realistic, as those you find, with no unique designs on other sites that offer prebuilt sitebuilders with listing system for various industries, also called turnkeysolutions.;) I see no stones in the way that this template will fit for your desired usage. Just because the demo shows cars, models or houses does not mean to only use it for that purpose. Other than the templates from non-clubs you will get no hardcoded psd design attributes that make a site to a one-purpose only template. Change the demo content and you have any fitting desired topic. The metal theme you could also use for a site about big machinery like Caterpillar Trucks, Off-Road, and so on, the first theme will also fit a lot more industries, same with the others previewed.

January 29, 2009 at 4:41 pm #288830I agree. I think theme type templates have their place, but the templates should be flexible enough to use for other applications. (Ironically, most auto dealers in my area have shut down due to the economy, so I’m not sure how many businesses would use this for an auto related site.) That being said, I mentioned in a previous post that I would like to see some of the extensions being used in the template. I know that we can add them in after the fact, but it helps to see how the extensions are styled to match the template, like a scrolling product view, product show case, etc., similar to the Apple site.

In times of recession, some sellers may even want to use a free shopping cart like VM, as they have no money left, so ironically not a bad point also when a car seller will mostly use industry standard products or as mentioned EZautos. VM you can also use as a catalogue but when I think about industry standards VM does not fit. Thinking about car sellers with no money to afford those, thinking about the dealership is closed already, thinking I do not really know what you mean…:p But honestly, you can equip the template with EZautos for Joomla and you will have what you ask for…I would not ask JA to purchase EZautos just to show you in a demo how it will look, as a quickstart package would then not include the components no more…as you have to get an own license for it etc… There are no free Car sales components out there, or am I wrong? There is some free component for offering classified ads but the free version provides also no payment system, etc.. So I may say there is no way to use your imagination or build you own demo later with purchasing EZautos and to add it to a system.;)

February 1, 2009 at 12:55 pm #289097Hmm, don’t you have to remove the logos of car manufacturers and the cars anyway when you build a site…???;) Well you have to, so where is this not also a template for bikes…it is all just the demo content that is by now about cars, when you install the template and extensions alone, you have a topic free template and can add any content you want, like bikes and hotties…
February 1, 2009 at 2:18 pm #289101yess… nice template for automotive portal.

February 2, 2009 at 6:49 pm #289245Just a few suggestions…
It would be nice to have a blog or news layout with a photo and date, similar to the front page of the JA Quartz template (I attached a screen shot). The photos with the black panel and white text is also really nice. I also like the product scroller that was used in other templates. I know that we can always add in these extensions, but it looks so good when they are styled with the template. Thanks I look forward to the template (maybe this week, crossing my fingers. 🙂

February 2, 2009 at 9:19 pm #289262Productscoller in pic 3 is VMProductslider, can only work when VM installed. Extension in pic 4 is a joomla module, could easiely be integrated into this template, with proper styling. Yet you can always apply the css styling of other modules that fit to the template then to any other module you later add to it…;)

February 2, 2009 at 9:44 pm #289263For me, applying styles from other templates has not been easy. Is this documented somewhere? I have seen multiple posts on this, but I don’t see a clear method. Regarding the scroller, I just thought it would be appropriate for this template. I will be using the template for a business site.
