I completely agree with you that it is impossible to release anything 100% stable. But as many people on this forum asked JA to wait for a stable version of Kunena (I don’t), i think it would be nice to see the JA dev team precisely explaining what are their criteria for a release and tell us if they plan to wait for Kunena 1.5 stable (please do not wait !) or if they will release before with either Kunena 1.0 in legacy mode or 1.5 RC (which to my opinion would be stable enough…).

I have no problem to wait for the template to be complete and tested (and once again the idea of Ganzuelo is great!) but I would not like to wait for Kunena team to move on (they use to be so so so slow…).</blockquote>

Those ideas are all very good and I know exactly what you are referring to, BUT, I speak about how it is right now, you all asked several times for some update about the status and it seems the more people ask for one, the less the answer will come before a release. To put up a test community is also a good thing, but this idea should have been brought up at the release of the preview already to make it work like it should. I also have seen no issues, big issues with the JA Sanidine release with CB last year, so I think to simply wait for the release of this one and to sum up all your ideas in a new thread for improvements of JA template releases would be the best idea, now it is quite late for this one here already.

    Sum it up like this:

    – For future releases of templates with or without specifict extensions, there should be an early demo set up where selected or unselected people can sign up, test and enhance the coming product in conjunction with the JA Team.

    Thanks!

I really do not see why it is too late for Joomlart to propose a demo. I think they will not release the template before about 15th July (or at the best 9th or 10th). It let them plenty of time to install a demo for 3 to 5 days.

I just tried to install JomSocial on JA tubes and I had plenty of parse errors. Reading JomSocial forums, it seems JomSocial usually do not work fine with JA templates (JA vauxite does not work too). So, I would clearly prefer to spend a few days more on a demo and have everything working fine for JomSocial.

Looking forward to this template, its looking really nice.

Please take the time to insure its working with the latest Jomsocial and Kunena 1.5 which should be released soon. Either that or please release an update later to support Kunena 1.5.

When you know all that, then call Hung via Skype and present your proposal…;)

They aren’t talking about a RC1 release of Kunena 1.5 until the end of June at the earliest, according to the Kunena forum.

Furthermore, I have read some posts on the Kunena board of people having issues using JomSocial with Kunena 1.5…not sure if that has been fixed yet.

I guess considering there is a lot to consider, JA might not even want to deal with Kunena 1.5 until all ducks are in a row — it is stable and integration with JomSocial is running without bugs.

From all accounts of feedback, JA Sulfur is going to be a very popular template. If JA gets it out and it has to be run in legacy mode, I think that’s fine. Really — how many people are already running in legacy mode due to Kunena 1.0 forums? I know I am.

Re-releasing the template with Kunena 1.5 down the road would be the ultimate. I do hope that Hung states his intentions once the template is released, so at least to give us the option to either use the template in legacy mode or wait ‘X’ number of months for the re-release in native 1.5…OR…if perhaps it is going to be an easy upgrade on a live site.

I agree with you. Even if K1.5 is not ready this should be released. Upgrading Kunena is very simple.

My god with all this talk and speculation here you would think joomlart would post a status update and answer some questions here.

Hoping for JA to respond to a question that has been asked by a large population of their paid subscribers is not nice?

    Hmmm……..

I think you took my comment in the wrong context. I wasn’t giving any crap. I said it would be nice to hear comment from JA about this question that everyone is asking.

Notice I didn’t mention anything about JA not addressing their paying customers questions. Why? Because i think it would “be nice” if they did, but when i signed up i don’t think I read anywhere stating that they would, so therefore it is not an expectation.

frankly im really glad that they are taking so long. this basically means that they are really making improvements and working to a less bug-less release rather than a slipshod one.

Yeah., I am really excited about this theme.. I would take to today but I found out that I cannot get a fresh install of Kunena 1.10 until my host Mediatemple updates mysql to 5. I am running 4.1.11 and I cant upgrade kunena
