    Hi art3,

Great to have your input here.

As Arvind stated, JA Jason has been delayed by a week because of the comments in this thread. I agree, it did look too simple, but I think there is more to it than its simple appearance and I prefer to wait to see the demo before getting to gung ho in my comments. There was talk of masonry style layouts which I hope will materialise and would be impressive. With all the effects we have these days a static image rarely does a template justice.

Hopefully we will soon see the fruits of the dev teams efforts and hopefully they have taken on all the comments and turn out a great template, only time will tell.

Mijoshop is not the best Joomla eCommerce solution out there and it doesn’t even have a free version / open source version and let’s not talk about the fact they got kicked off the JED for trying to fraudulently skew things in terms of Voting!

How long ago was your use of Hikashop ?

    Cheers,

    E.

I used Hikashop quite recently. In its early days it did have a lot of problems but it has matured nicely. It’s template system is a little odd at times but it works really well for a free solution and the support forums there are really good. A few of the template clubs have begun to produce stuff for it and I am sure JA can do a great job too.

Just want to say i bought again a subscription for JA just for this Template and the HikaShop CSS.

I understand i had to wait 1 week to work with it due to some more older DEVs, I hope the wait will produce an even better Template. My site is for Robotics and i use HikaShop and Im very pleased TipTop E-Commerce component!

    Regards

Pedrox deleted his own post. I am sure he has his reasons.

I deleted my comment because I was wrong. I thought Joomlart had deleted my comments. But simply were banished to http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/css-in-ja-templates/

PS: I regret that most subscribers JoomlArt, are so little assets. Because nothing changes if we are not a little aggressive and persisting. We should not be afraid to say what we want. Even if we have to use Googe translator, LOl

I decided to have a look at the demo of Jason, to see if my initial opinion on the template was right or not.
I agree with all that Joomlart is not being innovative in the last templates and that they can do much more than this, there are plenty of other possible things to do like templates for classifieds / directories websites, hiring / find a job websites, outsourcing websites, real estate websites, booking/online reservation websites, video sharing websites, music websites, maps-based websites etc.
But a part from this, after having a look at Jason here is what I think:

HOMEPAGE: there is way too much white space above the top menu and below it.
Logo looks like JA Sugite one and the cascade menu doesn’t look in line with the template style.
No image or colour background, just a “My name is Jason. bla bla” that doesn’t look so good imo.

Then, scrolling a bit, we can see a list of articles. Pictures/Thumbnails are not of the same size and it just look chaotic, not nice.

Then I scroll and omg, the homepage is finished there… there is a quote of Leonardo da vinci and not even a footer menu or something else

Then I check the shop, which is the only thing nice of this template.

Then I check the single article and categories blog pages… nothing special. It seems there are also no module variations and not typography.

This seems to me just a draft template or something done in a rush, not a well thought template.

I just saw the JASON template and to be honest, is very simple and does not like.
Alguin Try to serve him, but I think it’s a template that I may not be used with any client.

The way the sentence is Leonardo da Vinci I gutsa !! but none of my clients will want to put something similar to that.

It has no bottom menu, very bad !!!
K2 has one large photo category list. We should be able to have the option of small image aligned to the left and text on the right.

    Where are they?
Slideshow, content slider, latest post, tabs products, etc.

It’s a shame, I’ll wait next month to see if tenermos something I can use with my clients.

The official release of JA Jason has been delayed to Sept 12 for improvements . . .
Check back then to see if any of the updates may be more to your liking.

I checked again the demo template and it is getting much better, thanks for listening to your customers!

One thing: could you please also add a lighter cascade menu, the dark one is not so in line with the template in my opinion.

    Thanks!

I agree totally.. coupons, weather, directory/classifieds, booking/reservations etc… badly needed and … responsive sites designed for tablets and smartphones first .. then laptops. Many of the templates and modules are appear to be based on Laptops first and are too slow loading. This also means speed and responsiveness is critical

These are all generally ancillary elements that can be integrated through a variety of extension components . . .

. . . many of which can be found via the JOOMLA EXTENSION DIRECTORY[/url] 🙂
