I suspect that this is more of a Joomla-core question then template specific but maybe you can help.

Website: http://www.backup.com.au
Third party modules: chat module for http://www.olark.com and statistics module for World Community Grid.

The website is working really well with it’s new template (JA Labra) but I would like to improve its efficiency when it loads.

I have a lot of useful information in the scrolling tabs at the top of the page, and in the left module positions I have some less critical data (online chat and statistics modules as mentioned above).

The modules in the left position seem to load before the scrolling tabs and sometime there is a lag in the modules getting their information. The scrolling tabs are last to load and through no fault of their own the are the last to load.

Is there a way I can priortise which module position loads first and make the scroll tabs load before the third party modules?
