November 10, 2011 at 2:47 am #423926Hi,
You can do that from S3 Component settings -> Manage buckets.
Please let me know if there is anything else you need.Regards
November 10, 2011 at 3:04 am #423932Hi, thanks for your response.
So I go under Bucket Manager, then Edit Bucket, and I see the Bucket Access Status options (public or private).
What I dont understand is: where to put username and password for Private option please?
Rgds.

Hi, after testing here is the issue:
– I put main bucket Public: it works well (URLs link to S3) but users can download everything by connecting directly to S3.
– I put main bucket Private: URLs link to internal server (no longer to S3). With those settings users are restricted accessing S3 files on server. How can I achieve URL linking to S3 + restricting users download at the same time please?
Rgds.

November 12, 2011 at 11:14 pm #424403Hi,
If i understand correctly what you are trying to achieve is to keep your files safe on S3 Amazon servers ?
Well i am not sure if you can lock the access on S3 Servers but if you can then, one thing is for sure you can use that password on JA S2 component (check on options).Regards
November 13, 2011 at 3:14 am #424415Hi,
Yes you understand correctly: I want to keep my files safe with passwords set on buckets so only my site can access them. Right now I only see Private or Public bucket option: if set to Private files are safe but site cannot access them (= cronjob doesnt work and URLs remain from main server).
So please advise me where Options are located… I cannot seem to find that menu.
– I can see Account configuration but this is for the main S3 account, not for individual buckets.
– Under Bucket Manager I can see Edit option but the only choice is between Public or Private (no room for password there)Am I missing something?
Sorry for bothering you, thanks in advance for your response. Rgds.
